  1. I see her in August and I'm going to cry when she does Yayo

I watched all of the videos we have in tracklist order and when Dollhouse started I was taken aback by the difference. She looks incredible in AB.
  3. I wish I knew if she was going to have more California dates so I could buy a ticket if not.

I've gotten so obsessed with Night Mime lately. I wish she made an album of songs like that. I feel like I used to criticize her for backing herself into one "image" with CB but I think she's actually got a lot of different avenues for something interesting. I hope she does a full on gothic album with songs like Night Mime/Mad Hatter. I'm really bummed though that I probably won't see her live (again). I moved from one coast to another and she toured in the opposite direction. There's some kind of festival or something later next month thats two hours away I might try and make but she's no where close to being a headliner so I'm worried her setlist will be really short.
  5. She didn't directly say it was a persona but I believe she referred to Lana Del Rey in third person recently which kind of opened a door of speculation that she really does see Lana as a persona. Obviously not all of the songs, but comparatively more songs on Honeymoon I think are backed by authentic relationships and emotions than on any of her other albums.
  6. I know she directly said that Honeymoon was less autobiographical but to me it seems that Honeymoon is the most autobiographical album she's done (minus maybe LDR). The fact that she's recently hinted at Lana Del Rey being a persona to her, I wonder if the other albums were autobiographical of the persona and Honeymoon was 'not autobiographical' because she was speaking as Lana Del Rey, a separate person in her mind than Lizzy Grant (of whom Honeymoon is actually autobiographical). My alternate theory is that she made the statement to protect herself in case Honeymoon was poorly received. It is nerve-wracking putting really personal material out there and to go ahead and distance herself from it would soften the blow if the overall consensus was that the album was bad. Then she could just blow it off ('I don't care, its not like it about me anyways'). Just some rambling thoughts.
  7. I love her dress but I really am not a fan of her center-parting her hair.

    MARINA (and The Diamonds)

Or nothing at all which is what I really should've expected.

So nothing happened at the show tonight?

TBH I would not be surprised and am 60% convinced that might be the case lol. Hoping for INHA but knowing her she'll debut Weeds live or yeah say she's ending her career.

    MARINA (and The Diamonds)

I had a dream that Marina announced a new leg of her tour in the US and Atlanta (town I'm closest to) was third on the list and she was coming in late March. Thing is that I am moving to LA in early March and this second leg didn't have any LA dates. I'm still so upset that I'll probably never get to see her live. On to real things, she apparently sang True Colors and Solitaire live at one of the recent shows. She's also promotig the crap out of this Froot Sundae show today so I'm wondering if she's going to release a new song or what the deal is with this show.
  12. Really? I absolutely love the word. I wish she would have incorporated big, yellow moons in the aesthetic of the album. And I feel like there's songs set in the west (GKIT), Italy (Salvatore), jungle?(MTWBT), beach (HBTB), city(AD), California (Freak) - its like traveling the world on your Honeymoon. I think its a beautiful word. But maybe I should post in the HM appreciation thread and not unpopular opinions.
  13. I think the best example of this is the melodies in Sad Girl and pretty When You Cry. "Bonnie on the side"/"pretty when you cry".
  14. I'm glad she's going to Europe. I loved getting to see her twice in 14 months, but I remember how it felt being a US fan in 2012-2013 when she never came here at all (or not outside of LA/NYC) and think it would be good for her to get out in other places.
  15. Probably my biggest annoyance with people obsessing over the film supposedly being intended for UV and is also one of my biggest annoyances with the official UV video. It doesn't fit the album at all, let it go. I didn't particularly not like the video but I haven't had an urge to watch it again. I was hoping for more from a video that she hyped up with a premiere.
  16. The first minute and a half of this song is orgasmic:
  17. I'm moving to L.A. a month too late I really hope this one is good. She needs it.
  18. Agree but I've always believed that it should be kids' parents' jobs to talk to them about celebrities and how the lifestyles they portray aren't real. Way too often the celebrity is blamed but really its not up to them to parent the young kids that like their music. This is for any and every person in the entertainment industry.
  19. Wow so this is actually really exciting. It has to be good for her to be making this much of a fuss over it.
  20. Before the Honeymoon sampler I think people were reaching given the lyrics of Ultraviolence but she also posted pictures around that time (if I remember correctly) that were speculated to be linked to some other cultish type thing that was here in America but I don't remember what it was exactly. I think now that the sampler footage is out and thinking of the potential connection between the scenes and UV song I think it is slightly more plausible but I'm prepared for anything with Lana. As to why she now feels like she can release the video, she isn't coming off the heels of an "I wish I was dead already" article or an album with lyrics like "he hit me and it felt like a kiss" which is why a "controversial" video right now isn't as big of a deal. That is true but the fact that she did film the UV video around the same time and captions like "Vice running shit" seem to point it was a video for UV or at least a song on the UV album. I'd like to think though that some of these visuals influenced the music that eventually came to be Honeymoon since she didn't use them and this time would probably be about when she was beginning to write Honeymoon. My thoughts: If this is what the UV video was supposed to be, based on the sampler footage and just what we know so far, I'm glad it got scrapped and used for Honeymoon instead. I don't think visuals match anything within Ultraviolence - the song or the album. Watch the UV trailer, watch the videos from that era (minus UV because we know that was a mess and probably not what Lana really wanted), listen and visualize the imagery in the songs and I just don't think it matches the whole beachside thing she had going. At best it was a cool concept for a video but I think what we've seen so far matches a song like Freak and an album like Honeymoon a whole lot more. Obviously can't say for sure until the full thing comes out. Just my opinion

I actually like the live acoustic of the song more than the studio cuts out all of the weird instrumental. I feel like I've been so underwhelmed with the recent leaks. They've been nice for sure but I guess I expected more the way people hyped them up.
  22. This is has turned into more of a "Post your random though about Lana" thread than true unpopular opinions Paradise and Honeymoon have my favorite album covers.

I like it but I'm not super impressed although I didn't have high expectations anyways. I guess its nice to know the song behind the title though since people have been going crazy wanting this to leak for a while.
