The W Mag interview was so confusing in the sense that she was talking about an album like it was almost done (describing it as a whole, talking about an opening track...) but when she described the creative process and the way she's working with Drew it almost feels like it was something that was going on at that time but maybe I'm just overanalyzing the grammar and wording I wish we could ask the interviewer when did it take place but since he's the Gucci creative director... I don't think he's that accessible I still think it's at least a bit older than the pictures cause he lives in Italy and unless he had other stuff there I doubt he flew to NY just to interview Lana... so it was probably done in Zoom or whatever a different day

Totally irrelevant thought right now but since she starts her records with the title track ~50% of the time maybe the plastic bag song is the title track... so maybe DNC = plastic bag song Chemtrails and BB broke the tradition of 1-2 and DNC may not be the title track (or a song at all) tho

I wonder if a Get Free version where she says Amy and Whitney still exists cause on the released one you can hear "for A- and for W-" but I don't know if the decision to silence those parts was made while recording (so a full version may not exist anymore) or after she had the song done (so a demo might exist). Maybe those lines were from Malibu

Jack finished his tour a couple of days ago... I wonder if we'll see him with Lana (in the studio) in these coming days, confirming the theory that she was taking a break while she was waiting for Jack to be available again... It's plausible but at the same time we have no confirmation that Jack will produce a big chunk of her album so she could have finished his stuff in April. Since she only mentioned Drew in the W Magazine and also posted that studio video I assume he's the main producer of LDR9 (with a couple of Jack tracks and the mandatory Rick song) What I find weird is that if the album was finished "recently" why hasn't she announced anything yet? Even if the vinyl takes some time she could start the rollout teasing a single of some visuals in the meantime... so she either - Wants to announce and release very close together (which for promo reasons is not the smartest thing to do so I'm not sure Interscope will endorse it) Or - The album is far from done (but that could mean she scrapped and changed stuff cause in the W Magazine she talked about the record with a pretty clear concept so it seemed like it was in the later stages already)

Every day I love her more. I'm absolutely in love with her whole discography but every month I get (more) obsessed with one of her albums and I discover new little details. She's such an amazing songwriter and nobody will ever come near her in that aspect. I'm sure she will be forever remembered as a legend I'm getting kinda dramatic but I'm so grateful to get to experience her art

Cape God and her 2 collXtions + Cry Baby are amazing albums but I don't think their styles match at all. I think it's the same with Marina, great artists but they get grouped together cause they are from the tumblr era but they are too different for it to work

Every time album info "leaks" it's exactly what we want to hear... but my delulu ass will believe it every time cause I like what I read

If she's still doing the "everything in one take" thing she better give us another mic check one two moment

It's a mixture of - BTD's singles have always being kinda popular in general - SS getting viral - Lana getting more popular so some people are discovering her now so more fans streaming her (and casual listeners like her most accessible albums like BTD and NFR) - BTD streams are counting the Paradise edition too so even if those tracks are getting the least streams (excluding Ride which is doing good) it's her longest album so more streams in total.

I still don't understand what's going on with this girl... it's not like they are waiting for her to get a hit before letting her release the album (cause it's not realistic and she doesn't even release singles to get the "hit" ) I guess she's also constantly reworking and changing stuff from the album but cmon it's been almost 10 years. At this point it would be better if she just releases the album and if it's good the acclaim would be enough promo to get some more people to listen to it (at least in the "indie" circles)

She may be talking about this in the W Magazine when she said something along the lines of having to really explain things cause people wouldn't understand who she was so I guess that's one of the reasons for her more straight to the point lyrics lately. I personally prefer the more dream-like and abstract lyrics from her earlier work but I'm really loving this new direction anyway so I won't complain if LDR9 is like that (and from her comments about it... it probably is). Since I know her lyrics will be good all I'm asking for is a bigger sound (which I'm confident we're getting). I'm excited for daddy Drew's orchestra

"Hating" her mother for giving her bad karma would be too petty tho I think her issues with Pat were that she wasn't very supportive of her career choices (and she probably still isn't considering it doesn't seem like they get along any better now)

The thing is that she didn't really say anything about it so I'd like if she elaborated a bit more on the subject (If she feels comfortable enough of course). She branded BB as "her story" but other than WFWF... I'd prefer that topic than another album telling us how tired she is of being famous

I hope she goes all out with her story and calls the album Karmic Lineage

Every platform lists the album now with just 14 tracks so I guess 16 could be a deluxe version that would be released later (probably mid week so it boosts streams). She also said there were no collabs but I think she backtracked on that recently so... maybe she scrapped 2 songs to put the collabs and then made 2 deluxe exclusive

I think it's one of the most likely songs to get re-released at some point considering she put out that random homemade video for it

And get cancelled in the process too... but no publicity is bad publicity anyway

I just know Interscope headquarters are a mess right now... they are probably trying to make her release something a bit more commercial while she just pitched her 7 minute acapella lead single with the words fuck, bitch and slut in the title

She's being everywhere ever since May started. I take that as another hint that the album is done and she's taking her well deserved vacation The other option is that she's waiting for Jack to finish his tour and they will resume the work in August... but I feel like them recording in April was in fact just to finish up the work before Jack had to leave.
