  1. A lot of the things that come out of Lana's mouth are my exact thoughts, about 90% of what is on http://lanaquote.tumblr.com/ I also relate to falling for the totally wrong people, having problems with alcohol, being a terrible performer and having stage fright, loving literature and wanting to "paint pictures with words." However she clearly writes lyrics based around the physical world while I write in metaphors. I am pretty attracted to this difference though
  2. I Can Fly is superior and reminds me of Kate Bush's This Woman's Work.
  3. I've made a few, but my favorite is titled: LDR's MOST DEPRESSING SHIT 1 ) Video Games 2) Ride 3) Summertime Sadness 4) I Don't Wanna Go 5) Old Money 6) Young and Beautiful 7) Pawn Shop Blues 8) Pretty When You Cry 9) Oh Say Can You See 10) Born to Die 11) Gods & Monsters 12) Black Beauty 13) Is This Happiness 14) Your Band Is All the Rage 15) Sad Girl This is basically the soundtrack to all of my lonely, late nights
  4. I like both songs, but it's very obvious she wrote the lyrics with the film's material in mind. That's why I don't really like movie themes very much. They are inauthentic. I'm feeling a lack of the passion Lana usually has, singing lyrics written about her own life. That said, I'll take any new Lana songs I can get at this point
  5. Literally anything by Stevie Nicks and I can die happy. I think a slowed-down, emo version of "Rooms on Fire" would be epic.
  6. Im going to get "Life Is beautiful, but you dont have a clue." Its kind of to remind myself that when Im very down.
  7. Every word of "Black Beauty" and "Is This Happiness," mostly because all of those emotions are true to reality (based on my experience). Also, the sadness is just fucking beautiful. I plan on getting BB quotes tattooed on me for my next birthday.
  8. The comments in this thread are giving me life. Hahaha! Im so sorry, Lana. I still love you.
  9. Literally nothing happened... Maybe Lana was pushed into a corner regarding not visually portraying the lyrics. Thats the only explanation Ive got!
  10. All of them. LOL. I really didn't like Lana much when I first heard her.
  11. Same coloring and filters as "Summertime Sadness." Looks like something dark will happen. When is it coming out?
  12. These lyrics are epically good at capturing both the love and hate involved in a mentally destructive relationship. I really appreciate the feelings of desperation here, that the only escape is through drugs and, ultimately, in one person simply killing himself. Tragic. Beautiful.
  13. Paradise is my favorite Lana CD
  14. Im here for this. Reminds me of when I was 16 and this kind of female-oriented folky stuff was huge. Lilith Fair all three years, yassss! I wonder how big Lana as May Jailer would have been then, if she hadnt been a child...
  15. Dark Paradise is too fast for the subject matter. And I hate that "Dead like you" line. So corny
  16. @ I have to agree. The fact that she added "...which is annoying" is what makes you realize she cannot be serious and was having a laugh. Her interviews are always divisive, she knows it, and she doesn't care!
  17. @@FormerLanaFan Its good you could get your opinions across, as everyone should be free to do so. Im glad you have strong beliefs about human sexuality. The problem isnt WHAT you believe, its your judgment of others who dont ascribe to the same beliefs. Sex, and what consenting adults do with their own bodies, should be of no concern to you unless the people in question are your partner, child etc. Especially in the case of Lana. You will never have any sort of close relationship with her so why concern yourself with how she has sex? If you feel disgusted with her behavior, fine. Dont support her anymore, but dont pass judgment.
  18. I didn't like like Lana much before this album, but I now consider her my goddess! She should stay with Dan forever and just keep making records like UV. @@LiamViljoen I also consider this a sort of "Music to Die By" album. Could also be something really f-ed up to put on in the background during sex. LOL. @@leaked_version I always thought that line was supposed to mean that. Am I wrong? Anyway, I adore UV for not jumping all over the place. I kind of hate it when albums are sonic messes, fast song followed by slow song and continue. Just stay in one place! I wanna build a damn mood and stay in it. PS- I own the CD copy of the Japanese version (with Flipside). It's RIDICULOUS that Is This Happiness was not included!
  19. I always figured the actual VG reference was a metaphor for unrequited love, despite what Lana says. Playing a game with her heart, so to speak, and using her physically when she wanted more. Or maybe I just cant abide a happy Lana song. LOL.
  20. Aww, I feel you I just spent the last two years of my life in love with a "straight" girl who would sleep with me, cuddle with me at night, flirt with me, then denied it all when I finally confronted her. You are much younger than me so you still have time. I hope you will find another to love.
  21. Same here, TBH. I think I read you are also LGBT? The church made me hate myself. I still actually have a lot of internalized homophobia I need to deal with. I am scared to be in a proper relationship with another lady-loving lady. I think my life would be a lot different and happier if religion hadnt interfered.
  22. LMAO at her sass over "So Legit." No one was supposed to hear that, huh?
  23. @@FormerLanaFan I dont think you paid attention to what I said. I dont ascribe to the free love philosophy for myself because Im just not that type of person. But I respect other women's possession of their own bodies. That is all. Ive never thought Lana was particularly romantic in song. I like her crassness and direct attitude. And holy shit, how can you say what you said about pussy? Thats more fucked up than you thinking Lana is a whore.
