I just wanna say that I actually like the cover, it's a vibe. I hope the people saying it's a placeholder cover or an exclusive are wrong and it's the final

She’s releasing OG versions, we’re so back. Thank you Godesha Jeroticasus

Snubbing VBS is crazy. Good luck to that woman.

Girl, she booed Stefani in Williamsburg. Know your history! I remember hearing her and Gaga shared some connection, in the form of a manager or something. There's more discussion of this in the sleuth thread, if not a manager just another musician or something. But, both ran in that underground musician scene in NYC. I don't believe they were ever linked together as dancers.
-
In Mike (Wild One) she says "I used to dance for him, dance for him" So it's possible she was just being her boyfriend's "Go Go Dancer", and the lyrics of the bridge express how well taken care of she is by him I believe Lana when she says "so many other things you can't believe", that woman has lived 9 lives lmao. Also just my two cents but I think a lot of the reason we don't hear more about Lana's life back then is because she was around a lot of men, likely unsavory ones, and exposing her might expose themselves! I did meet one girl in NYC, she claimed to know Lana in Lake Placid, couldn't tell ya what she said and it doesn't mean anything anyway. I want to say she validated Lana's alcoholism or something like that. And I mean no disrespect with this post....JS

Idk, I don't like this comment. In that song she discusses loss of innocence and even rape. And this comment just feels very arrogant. Jack has said Lana puts a lot of humor in her songwriting that goes over people's heads, and it's true. She's at times very tongue in cheek and satirical, even in the most serious of songs, and that could very well be the case for A*W or the latter, it could be how she really felt inside which shouldn't be used against her. This thread itself is perfectly fine and done respectfully. It's ok for fans to have questions regarding how accurate and real the songs are. But I think some people take her too deeply and take these conversations way too far but also some fans get really upset seeing things like this being discussed which I don't think is right. Just be respectful when you have these conversations that's all you can really do.

I don't know, have we ever had ANYONE come to the media or the internet to spill tea on their interactions with Lana outside of music producers and industry folks? It hasn't happened. I doubt anyone, especially someone like Lana, can disguise themselves that well in a club setting like that. Someone would have came forward with a story or some receipts. Lana is a fantastic songwriter, and just a fantastic writer in general. I think it's widely accepted a lot of those leaks are fantasies likely sprinkled with some truth. This in no way devalues the songs or her overall artistry. And I believe her when she talks about other things, A*W for example feels completely autobiographical as opposed to a song like Go Go Dancer. Go Go Dancer itself is very tongue in cheek, a lot of those leaked pop numbers are. I don't think they should be taken seriously for a hardcore stan. Just enjoy the beautiful music. That's my take <3

Ayesha seems very unprofessional tbh.

https://twitter.com/AyeshaOnline69/status/1757580842963206423 Won't embed. But this is just sad, she had the vision and artistry to do what Kim or Slayter are doing. But how can she say her boyfriend is helping her if she has substance abuse problems and is living with him? Who is supplying the drugs? Is he just watching her get high? It's just not adding up, sorry. And I say that as someone who has been around a lot of users. This girl just can't get out of her own way and I totally empathize with her, it's just so disappointing seeing someone waste such talent. Regardless, it's nice that she is opening up and no longer hiding under the mystique of "what happened to Ayesha Erotica" anymore. It's also sad to read how she feels about all of the music that we love so much. I understand where she is coming from, people change, grow and move on from certain behaviors. In a way, that music does define her persona, so I get it. I just hope something good can come her way and she can create music how she wants with some backing. She should also seriously try pitching songs to artists, she is a great producer.

Lasso is such a good title, it’s so pretty and perfect for her first country album. I hope she keeps it. But knowing her I’m counting on it to change lol, and I’m wondering if she has any feelings of gathering a new concept for the album because it seems like this is going to be a year of artists doing country albums.

In 2024 I think it's time to truly retire her. She never wanted to release another album. We should truly let her fade into obscurity for good. I will no longer be keeping up with Miss Sky Ferrari any longer, she has done so much damage to my psyche, I might need behavioral therapy to recover from the trauma. I have deleted all her music and plan on getting electro shock therapy or something to suppress any memory I have of Night Time My Time or Everything Is Embarrassing (the rest is pretty forgettable as is) Toodles, Sky Ferrari

Slut Pop rehash is fine.......but I'm interested to see where she goes after this. If anything we need another TOTL in Oct.

Loving the visuals so far this era. It's giving a grown up True Romance tea.

If the label wanted to make money off a video, we would not have gotten that Candy Necklace MV lol.

The Paradise and the esoteric origin of mankind
HeyBlueBaby replied to litewave's topic in Lana Thoughts
This thread is amazing! It will be my new mainstay. I'm not versed on mysticism or anything like that but I will try my hardest to keep up with you guys if any of you care to share more of your wonderful insights. It's wild to me that these discussions are harder to seek out. I feel like every day when I listen to her music, there's something she says that puts me on pause and I'm just like, why is no one talking about this or piecing this shit together??? So this thread is a god send for me. -

Absolutely adore this thread. It's great work, my hats off to you guys in here. Answering a lot of questions I have. I will say, the people naysaying this thread have not begun to scratch beyond the surface of Lana and her work. I don't know how anyone who's been following this woman as long as me or even later years in her career cannot see all of these things being discussed in this thread are very accurate and in tune. It's a lot deeper than we will ever know. I hope she tells us one day. Candidly. Her next album is going to be fun to dissect. I feel like she took it back to the start with Did You Know....finally vocalizing some of the things we already knew she experienced (being sent away, her rough relationship with her mother, experiencing loss at a young age, and just her general circumstances during these years) I haven't fully caught up but I'm curious why you guys think she finally opened up with songs like Fingertips and Kintsugi....what is she trying to capture or execute there? In one interview from this era, I remember her saying people were encouraging her to "explain herself" Norman after Lust For Life was a very drastic transition. Take into account Lust For Life was somewhat of a "commercial" album for her, or at least I personally think the intention was to capture those more "pop" leaning young listeners directly, with the imagery and the sound, as opposed to that of Honeymoon. I can't verbalize it but every move after Norman makes sense to me, COCC, BB, DYK....it almost feels like she is closing a chapter. I thought about this the other day, after it hit that she was going to do a Country record, perhaps Did You Know served as the final chapter of the Lana Del Rey we know thus far, she did sign off at the end of the album afterall with TT X VB. I think this because the album just sounds very mournful yet healing and accepting. So it was so fascinating for me to read the "death" of Lizzy that occurred in 06. I wonder what ignited this transition. It would be cool if the sleuthing thread could try and dig deeper as opposed to just trying to chronologize her relationships. -
Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards
HeyBlueBaby replied to Elle's topic in Awards & Nominations
The Grammys award commercial success, and all of the other albums sold more and spawned big hits. Even if you think Ocean was better than them, it just couldn't compete. Plus, Taylor had too big of a year for anyone to think she was not walking away with her album wins. -
Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards

I agree that it's a weird relationship. On paper, it makes total sense, but there are also somewhat stark contrasts of each other. But you're right, Taylor is a good ally to Lana and has used her platform to shout her out multiple times, so why are Lana fans getting online being petty and annoying about her losing nominations when the Grammys have always snubbed her? -
Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards
HeyBlueBaby replied to Elle's topic in Awards & Nominations
The think pieces about Taylor are embarrassing. This is not the first time Lana lost multiple Grammy nominations in one night. It's not Taylor's fault. Let's be real, Lana had little chance of winning ROTY & SOTY with such tough competition with Flowers, SOS, and Midnights all being commercial smashes. Her best bets were the Alternative nominations, but she lost those too. It's sad, but we can't place blame on Taylor. Lana is a grown woman, if she didn't really want to get on stage, she wouldn't have. She was probably supporting her friend. Lana knows very well she is an underdog even though I'm sure she really would like a win. But some of y'all are the same people who tried to convince yourselves Lana lowkey doesn't like Taylor so.....whatever I guess. -
Oh she’s done for…..Lana, we wanted pop diva. And I doubt she’s going to be doing Kasey Musgraves country. I might have to grow up and unstan at this point. We’ll see I guess……
