Tbh her voice sounds like she's out of breath plus autotune on the part "I'm just a sucker for pain and after" but sounds good before that. I prefer the official version. I liked like the idea of her singing the song because she's very good at pulling off dark but poppy songs. Btw the song sent me back to high school and me hating absolutely every hit song except the Suicide Squad soundtrack.

Is there a chance to buy any vinyl of her because I can't find it anywhere except the assholes who resell it for hundreds?
-
Same here. I love the rest of her albums but I looooove everything until Honeymoon and plan to buy every record including Paradise. Other albums are more tied to my personal nostalgia and the vibes and I rarely come back to listen to them. I completely stopped listening to Blue Banisters except the title track only a couple of months after it was released. It was too moody and not in a good Lana Del Rey way.

This thread is 5 stages of grief. Scientists should really study the human psychology through this thread.

Fun fact about myself: I tried getting into Heavy Metal Heart and didn't but my Deezer told me by the end of the year that it was my guilty pleasure song a.k.a. that I've listened it multiple times but never saved it anywhere.

She looks so modern. I always loved her style and she has no cringy micro trend moments. She sounds so good here. People would've eat this up in 2022. I wish she'd done an European tour in smaller venues like DJs do often.

I mean, Russia is a big country, it's normal for a small European country to be dependent on something, assuming you're from a small country since the majority are small. I don't see why's more ethical to import gas from America that constantly bombs other countries. Some countries sanctioned Russia but still choose to buy gas but they have to pay in rubles (Germany I think), which I think is more expensive because the ruble is inflating. So they're technically still financing Russia. (feel free to correct me because I get this info from newspapers since I don't see a lot of post war data) We're fucked either way and I can't believe I thought that the world will be back to normal after spring of 2020 quarantine or after vaccines. Time to buy cute cozy sweaters.

Unpopular opinion (not offensive).... I find it so embarrassing how wealthy western countries will have gas and electricity restrictions like some 3rd world countries because they listened to big daddy 'Murica to sanction Russia. What made them to literally bite the hand that feeds them? Probably had received some serious threats. Now America will profit from countries that will ship gas from them, expand NATO's boarders, 'colonize' Ukraine by burying them in credit for all the military stuff etc. It's a win-win baby. Where was the same energy for Israel? The EU can't claim to be all for human rights but completely ignore when an ally to the US is doing something very similar.

Babe I know I'm literally planning to buy that album on vinyl. It's awkward af but at least it doesn't last long. Imagine the parents' reaction in the 80s when their teen kid played it for the first time. Wait until you hear Rocket Queen and the story behind it.

As a former huge fan of Avril in my tween days I can't listen to anything by her after 2013, even the 2013 songs are meh except Let Me Go. She either revisits her pop punk era and style or releases a snooze fest ballad no one cares about. She simply can't evolve as an artist and her entire sthick is how she's exactly the same since 2006. It was cute the first and second time and now it's kinda pathetic. Imagine Lana constantly replicating her BTD era and releasing songs that sound like outtakes of that album?

Seriously why did rockstars in the 20th century think it was cool and edgy to moan in songs? Same for Whole Lotta Love, the chorus is a 10 but half of the song is moaning in echo and some weird effects that makes the song a 2. Ride is a 10 but Lana's forced deep voice in the pre-chorus makes her sound like she has saliva stuck in her throat so it's an 8.

That and also her writing wasn't following trends and was singing about stuff that was sung 60 years ago. Everyone who sang about hashtags, selfies and MySpace looks like a clown now. You can only spot trends in her early music videos but that's unavoidable plus the clothes weren't cringy micro trends. I feel like NFR was the first to receive attention on Tiktok but UV, especially West Coast, went viral multiple times.

Hey I didn't see the reply until now. So it's made out of brass? Ugh. She could've at least have it made of stainless steel. I did sacrifice an hour of my day to find comparisons of the original vs a dupe by a certain Etsy seller and I saw no difference. The dupe sells for about 40$ so it's basically the price of the original before it went viral. I was asking for a color because I'm a silver girl but I was thinking about the gold one to 'feel' more authentic.

I love how Lana's music goes viral on Tiktok every single month and how her older music is nowhere near irrelevant even years later. She doesn't need scandals nor marketing strategies for people to listen to her. There was also a trend among my IG friends to post a story with 6 favorite artists/bands and I swear that 9/10 people had Lana. She's already starting to become timeless. I feel like song like Ride came out 4 years ago while it was released the same year as Starships and Call Me Maybe. The other two songs are only listened for the sake of nostalgia by millennials and older gen z while Ride is regularly listened by new younger fans.

I convinced her to love Arctic Monkeys AM but she can't remember their name because she doesn't speak English so they're called "The ones who sound like Pink Floyd".

I'm literally wheezing at what my mom said about Lana. I'm trying to convince her to give her a listen because all of her friends love her and she was like: Mom: Yeah I hear her when you play her records Me: But you completely ignore whatever I'm playing Mom: No I'm not, she's the one that sings like aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh😫 That's such an accurate description of Ultraviolence and Honeymoon

Moms of young female singers are often so odd. Tonia reminds me so much of Madison Beer's mom Tracie back in the day. She would also argue with her daughter's haters and be a little too invested in her career without even managing it. I was a veteran follower since 2013 when this was present. We've all met these types of moms who live vicariously though their daughters. At least for Sky it seems like everything was her own ambition.

Wait wait. Drugs are so normalized in Hollywood and the model industry but as soon a small artist/model is associated with drugs it's bad? A load of bullshit. I would understand if Sky was some Disney role model but she wasn't. No one bat an eye when Johnny Depp admitted to doing drugs as a father and a grown ass man in that damn trial but Sky lost a ton of opportunities. Why would the modeling industry care what their model does in their free time as long as they stay skinny and do their job? The literally embrace the heroin chic look of their models. I personally wouldn't care if my favorite musician has a shitty lifestyle as long as they function properly and weren't like Amy Winehouse. As for the bf incident, carrying someone else's drugs is suspicious af. It's too naive They were probably heading to a location where they would've use that but got caught.

I feel like I'm the newest fan here. I've seen her in YouTube recommendations in the early-mid 2010s whenever I listen to indie and alt. Her videos never seemed to make me check her except Everything's Embarrassing. I didn't like the song on the first listening that much and forgot about her. In 2015-16 I saw a video exposing Halsey as a Lana Del Rey and a Sky copycat and that was when I liked her title track but it was the type of song you don't listen to regularly not save but rather come back to on YouTube. In late 2020 she came into my mind out of nowhere because I always remembered her name and I listened to her entire discography and became a fan. I don't know why my teenage brain wasn't interested because she was exactly the type of music and an artist I was into in high school. I remember her vividly as a nameless tumblr girl and saving some of her photos to recreate them but I looked up more to LeHappy for grunge style inspiration.

The industry is full of double standards so comparing them is quite realistic. It's not like Ari and Doja will see this and be offended. Omg Doja and Ariana got criticized so much that I didn't even notice despite being a fan of both of them. Of course you'll find a small amount of people who will criticize celebs for stuff like that. Almost every female celeb that dates an average to ugly dude gets criticized tho. Babe, it's kind of toxic to defend celebs at every cost even when they're in the wrong. If you do this, please find a better hobby. I never said that Lana is the only victim, she's just a low hanging fruit when it comes to internet dragging.

Me too. Maxis match seems like a poor excuse to cut corners. I remember in 2014 being shocked by the clay hair and how outdated it looks. Sims 2 had so much detail and you can choose what aesthetic you want without looking odd in the game. I also hate how sims in TS4 have super cartoony animations. Their face gets so distorted when making facial expressions. Their eyebrows end up on half of their forehead when raising them, pregnant sims look like they're carrying quadruplets and their movements are so quirky and unrealistic. People who worship this kind of style give me Disney adult vibes. As for sexual orientations, it looks like a way to pander to the LGBTQ+. I only like the casual hookup option. Sims were always bisexual by default but can turn gay or straight depending on which gender we set our sims to flirt with. I'm kinda curious how aromantic sims will be able to date.

I can't describe how much i love the "This place is so Lana Del Rey vinyyyyl 💅🏻" meme. Those were basically my thoughts when I see an old fashioned home with a huge garden of roses. I can also be super cocky for using that sound/quote and being an owner of a Lana Del Rey vinyl. Tiktok is doing q service for this fan base, not ruining it like some people may think. Also if Doja Cat or Ariana Grande had a boyfriend like that people would be defending them with their life. People are so empathetic to attention seeking celebs like the Kardashians but pick on Lana probably for not being good at defending herself. Why would anyone care about someone's partner unless he's a pedo, Nazi, racist etc. Where's that energy for Nicki Minaj's husband? If Lana's bf is gay or bi it's Lana's business and why would people care if she's obviously okay with it.

Okay so I just found it about her NFTs and I'm upset why she doesn't sell those as plushies. I don't listen to her for years but I would've definitely get one and keep it on my bed next to my cushions. Some people are shamelessly moneyhungry.

Babes, I think this thread is the right one for this question. You probably know about the heart pendant necklace with a spoon. It's extremely rare and I'll probably buy a silver copy on Etsy. I was wondering what was the price of the original, of what material was made and if gold was the only color available? I loved it before I found out it's Lanas merch, I thought it was just her favorite necklace that went viral that it got named after her.

I said pre-MTV. I'm aware that MTV was the beginning of the obsession with appearance. She's not old but being 30 in her industry is tricky unless you're already mainstream. Today's biggest stars had their big break in their early 20s - mid 20s, of course they're going to inevitably be 30. I wish people, primarily women, of all ages have the same chance of making if big but sadly it's not the case. I see the music industry pushing minors more and more.
