  1. oh plus comin back to me by jefferson airplane, snowqueen of texas, you are my love by liverpool express - soo much that feels cold and glittery 💘
  2. this poem forever!!! the language is hypnotic like she's driving something straight into me (but i don't quite know what) as for some of my favourite lyrics w the word blue: "sometimes i wake up in the morning to red blue and yellow lights" - esp when compared w the first verse when originally she wakes up to red blue n yellow skies </3 "god bless the blue and god like them mean" "sweepin scents and blue hydrangea, summer hail and summer stranger" "me, your red white and blue girl, star-spangled danger"

if you lie down with me vs prettiest girl in country music
  6. So I moved to California but it’s just a state of mind it turns out everywhere you go, you take yourself, that’s not a lie wish that you could hold me or just say that you were mine it’s killing me slowly vs There's a girl that sings Hotel California Not because she loves the notes or sounds that sound like Florida It's because she's in a world preserved, only a few have found the door It's like Camarillo, only silver mirrors running down the corridor Oh, man

    Bob Dylan

was pretty unfamiliar w the bulk of his discography (knew + liked positively 4th street, lay lady lay, tangled up in blue, it's all over now baby blue, etc. and stuff by the traveling wilburys, but not much else) but for the past few months i've been slowly making my way thru his music so can't say a favourite yet but ones that stick out for me atm are: stuck inside of mobile with the memphis blues again - a real contender!! moonshiner ❤️ north country blues dreamin of you (this sound for him, hot) standing in the doorway (i can almost imagine an older jeff buckley singing this 💔) love sick leopard-skin pill-box hat ain't talkin tryin to get to heaven subterranean homesick blues went to see the gypsy down the highway this wheel's on fire what was it you wanted
  8. he didn't work on AKA so im taking that as a sign that another eclectic, experimental, strange, poetic, softly glowing masterpiece is in sight
  9. im replying sooo late now but sending u sm love and i rly hope ur okay out there 💘 this all makes me think of carl jung's theory of synchronicity and seeing symbols in ur inner life that collide/interweave w external events (meaningful coincidences). relatedly, lana said she was influenced by carl jung when working on this album and i'm so curious to see how it manifests in her writing/themes - i have a feeling that and hope this album will be a huge comfort 💘
  10. of the song suggestions, i've only heard l$d which i loveee. also, thinking abt the lyrics "will I finally know when it’s finally done? this whole life’s a hallucination?" RUINED me 💖 @PatentLeatherDoOver u are so smart and sweet and special, did u know?
  11. applying red lipstick at my childhood home she's getting a grammy for sure
  12. i was thinking the same thing bc the tunnel does seem v coffin-like and "don't forget me" taps into such a base, existential fear - to me it's almost like thunder's refrain "just do it, don't wait" where the listener can decide for themselves what exactly is going on/what they want out of the song and even meanings to the same line can shift and transform as the song goes on. but that's the best part of lana's songs, that so many ideas and images are swirling together constantly
  13. v seriously claiming the piano tracks i'm soo curious abt them, tho i do think track 11 is possibly the second interlude
  14. rn im getting being pouty, being an old movie star w loneliness as ur occupation, needing a cross on a hill or a hilton hotel, fear making u feel much younger than u are, the blue banisters leading to the most private room in the house n she's in a nightgown making confessions i also can't help but think she's making fun of the whole coquette aesthetic a bit
  15. it's such a perfect, bittersweet, melancholy melody and immediately reminded me of avril 14th by aphex twin, i'm scared it could be one of her best songs
