I think her videos need no special effects either, but in this case it was a good stylistic device projecting L.A. pictures (in warm colors) onto her body. This is a special song, she had never made such an emotional ballad and the effects aided to intensify emotions.

Maybe some takes look so, but only because Lana wanted it in this way, she was directing the video.

After the final part of the Arcadia video everything is clear to me: she's moving to Mexico, becoming a drug dealer (we have the hints "Yayo", "Heroin", "Dealer", Mafiosiprincess), her new persona is a baddie with dark hair and sunglasses and she will make some sort of Latin/Trap music. *g*

I don't see this. Charlies camera work for Arcadia for example was a very good job.

I think a bundle of even excellent songs doesn't make a good album yet. It depends on how they are arranged and fit together.

I know it sounds bad but you can also say it has no real concept.

Seen from a further perspective the social media shutdown is a big, mature step, showing that she is more interested in making music than in self-portrayal. I think she's gaining a lot of respect for that.

She starts with "...we're deactivating our social media accounts...". So they were not managed by Lana only and it was maybe not only her decision.

I think she could be disappointed/sad because "Arcadia" performed not as well as expected in the charts.
