I know, it's been 3 years, and I'm still not over it. I wasn't old enough to really grasp Amy Winehouse's death, but now I know what people mean when they say an artist went too soon. She wasn't even at the peak of her career, I know she would have produced for Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Britney Spears, maybe even Nicki Minaj. Her sound was constantly shifting, I miss her dearly and I never even had the chance to see her live...

Thats true I can definitely see that! Though I think the controversy will come either way (and yes im 100% certain itll be on the album). Curious to see what the discourse will look like… Not that Im excited for it but I wanna know how the GP is gonna react to it

beg for you has sadly aged really badly i remember forcing myself to like it but constant repeat, lightning, yuck, siihy, twice… such classics & highlights

Love and Fear makes me feel depressed, that whole era… nothing exciting or tasty about it, the music just fell on its face, she picked the worst songs on the album for the acoustic ep, the clean bandit shenanigans…(sort of unforgivable…) it felt like the death of the artist I had known and not in a good way. Idc if that’s sounds dramatic either I fell in love with Marina BECAUSE she was so weird and different, when she played the basic pop card with the L+F era it was soooo lame and disappointing for such a powerful artist.

Visions would be nice too since it was at one point the starting point of the album...

I don't mean to diss Rina too hard, but how does she sound like the tacked on remix feature on the A.G. Cook remix instead of Vernon, like babe...
Charli makes great songs and has great features, how is this neither?

It’s that “assembled” and polished up, super commercial kind of pop music… just if it was good.
 
Even taking old hits and samples and reusing them in a completely obvious way, but it’s still somehow not even half as intrusive or corny like the ones that actually DO land in radio rotation.
 
It’s the Charli effect though… all of her more commercial-leaning stuff just has that little bit of something extra that makes it all the more enjoyable.

I’m very late but I been through it, I think CRASH executes its intentions as a solid basic well produced pop album perfectly

ADIAML to me sounded like she was trying to go kiiind of back to her electra heart/froot sound but very half assed and washed through if that makes sense.... hence why i dislike it...... i just need her to come up with something newww and freshhhh i know she has it in her, atleast i hope so... but i need that PUNCH and ENERGY from her first 3 albums back! the character, the soul, which imo l+f & adiaml are missing...

Wellll she said she had been in the studio with her but on a recent interview she said she think she‘ll do this one on her own so idk what to believe. Could very well be their collab isnt for xcx6

i understand hypocrates but radioactive????

honestly TFJ has like 5 AMAZING songs and the rest are bland as hell (imo). With Froot, I really enjoy about half of the album. And with EH… there’s only like two songs I don’t like (Hypocrates & Radioactive)..
 so I guess I’m forced to say EH > Froot > TFJ
basic taste perhaps but anyone who says EH isn’t a masterpiece is a liar.

It’s such a shame that she stopped making music after these 3 incredible albums
