Producers ≠ Boyfriends though I don’t agree that her producers are the only reason her music sounds a certain way

Tbh I think Speak Now is a great re-recording, it’s extremely faithful with some tracks being better than the ogs imo (Mine, Back to December, Innocent) , and it has pretty good vault tracks, though I only go back to Foolish One and Timeless really. 1989 TV is pretty good as well but Style TV is a massive botch that is so bad that I think it brings down the entire re-record for people. New Romantics was botched too, but not as bad as Style. HOWEVER, the vault tracks are the best vault tracks as 5/6 of them are 10/10 bops to me (sorry Say Don’t Go fans, I find it boring lol). I also think Out of the Woods, Wonderland, Clean, and All You Had to Do Was Stay TV’s sound better than the OGs. Honestly I think Red TV is her worst recording. It has a few pretty bad botches for me (WANEGBT, Holy Ground, All Too Well OG, Everything has Changed), and despite there being 9 vault tracks, I only consistently stream 3 of them. Also the complete change to Girl at Home was really weird, even though I don’t care about either version. I will say it has some really great re-records on it, Red and Sad Beautiful Tragic were totally elevated in their TV’s. Also, the era was AMAZING. I stayed up to listen to it and it felt like I was listening to it for the first time. The next day I went and got Taylor’s drink at Starbucks with my friend and it was really fun. That and all the appearances she was making + the music videos really made it feel like its own era which has not been replicated with the other re-records. Fearless TV is the best re-record imo. It’s extremely faithful to the OG record and has some really standout TV’s (Fearless, Fifteen, Hey Stephen, The Other Side of the Door). I personally really like the vault tracks with the exception of We Were Happy. Don’t You and Bye Bye Baby are my favorites. so basically I think my ranking would be 1. Fearless TV 2. 1989 TV 3. Speak Now TV 4. Red TV
  3. Honeymoon 18 Terrence Loves You 83 God Knows I Tried 8 The Blackest Day 30

where we go from there is realize the idea of "quality" is not so objective and that maybe you just don't like the style of ttpd, but that really doesn't make it a bad record. i feel like we can have more productive and positive conversations about music when we stop trying to categorize everything as good or bad objectively.

Rep is my favorite (though i don't think it's her best) but i remember it being absolutely panned when it came out, lover was treated a bit better by critics, but she was definitely losing relevancy and for a LONGGGG time those were viewed as her two weakest records. But now a lot of people seem to count 2017-2021 as her best music era. I've also been noticing ever since TTPD came out, people on pop forums are acting like Midnights is an amazing album when I remember the general consensus being that it was one of her worst records and the production was bland. It seems like people only appreciate her albums in hindsight.

i'm trying not to get into arguments on here but jesus this is just so disrespectful to her artistry... many people including me do not believe there was a ''sharp decline" in the quality of her music and equating her talent with some random man you know nothing about is just... weird.
  10. i'm sad that ttpd is out... it's my fave. but i'm gonna vote based on the era and not particularly how much i like the album Fearless - 5 Speak Now - 4 Red - 6 reputation - 17 Lover - 5 folklore - 7 evermore - 4 Midnights 7
  11. i agree with whoever said ocean blvd is overrated ngl... there are some songs i really love but as an album it doesn't work for me, and i don't understand how it's regarded as one of her best records

  14. You know I actually have one song I want to put on here but I’m a bit afraid of the lashings I will receive
  15. I don’t want to sound like I’m on a high horse but I genuinely don’t find any music terrible 😭 I’ve gotten really annoyed at songs (LUNCH by Billie Eillish… sorry Billie stans) but it’s mostly because they are overplayed or I just don’t particularly like it. That doesn’t mean I think it’s genuinely bad. Most of the time if I don’t like something It’s just not my taste.
  16. These kinds of threads are just not a good idea
  17. The conversations already been had multiple times at this point I think if people don’t like him/his values they just don’t like him and that’s totally fine. There is no point in trying to defend him and this relationship, people are gonna feel how they feel.
