I was on Instagram a few minutes ago and saw like two clips from, I'm assuming, a recent interview and Melanie talked about how she loves planning things far in advance and she has her next four albums planned out (she hasn't written anything for them yet) and in another clip Melanie said that she is working on a documentary for Portals I guess that'll show how she made the album. The Instagram is melaniedailyfact.

Good for her, but also, why a Portals documentary when there's so much better material from her career to talk about? On top of the movie that no one really wants, it's just too much.
 
Planning her albums up to 40+ years old is a lot, too. She's better off just keeping her sights on the present otherwise we'll get a repeat of K-12 where she plans an album, starts making it, and then gets tired of it as soon as it's released, lol.

I want a new album, but this time it’s actually a GOOD album.. Is that too much to ask from her at this point?  

I hate to agree but I'm starting to feel this way, I was super into it at first and tried to be understanding but I just can't anymore :/ 

i rly hope she scraps the idea of all the music videos / movie for this album… it already feels so drawn out and boring. i can’t imagine having to wait another few months just for one music video.  wrap it up melanie :/

But she probably never will because it "dOeSn'T FiT HeR ViSioN".. even though her "vision" has been all over the place lately to begin with and, at times, is just poorly executed(K-12). I don't see why she seems to think it'd ruin the flow of her discography to release any of her top leaks when it'd probably just bring her a ton of money and revive her 2015-17 popularity. It's not like she hasn't released songs separate from her concept albums before, anyway.
 
And it's almost self sabotage to dig your heels in so hard to get exactly what you want all the time even if it's way above your means as an artist, but not be willing to do simple things like putting out better merch and releasing fan-favorite tracks to make that money. The way she's been talking about this film budget is like she's just waiting for some producer to notice how special she is and drop a cool few millions into her lap and say "have fun!". It's honestly really strange.

My post was just pointing out the hypocrisy. The people that started digging into Elita's past and making those posts were Melanie fans, which I thought was funny, considering the image Melanie had at that time + the fact she was wearing dresses from DDLG shops on tour. This has nothing to do with my opinions of Melanie, I just thought it was weird!
Side note, Melanie isn't responsible for Elita's career choices. Her boyfriend and bandmate Timothy is the one who got her into music. The band formed because Elita and Tim were trying to write a film treatment, it wasn't going anywhere, and that somehow led to them writing "I Hate Everyone But You" instead. If I recall correctly, a thread was made once upon a time (2018?, 2019?) but it was deleted or closed because of awful things reposted on her tumblr blog that were brought to attention. Don't rlly want to say as I never saw proof anyway.
 
P.s. I love her song Sour Switchblade a LOT  but because of what I said above, I am genuinely not a comfortable "fan" of hers. 

they're a great band, but a lot of people tend to overlook the band because Elita Harkov had Tumblr posts about DDLG during her cokewhore camgirl phase... even though the people in question stan Melanie Martinez and this piece of information was uncovered right in between the Cry Baby and K-12 eras

I think this era feels off because it's riding a line of being her most personal(lyrics) and most impersonal(costume, voice changer, etc) so far. We have no idea how some songs fit the theme, no storyline context, and don't even know Cryptid Baby's name. It's very different from CB and K-12 coming with built-in explanation- literally a whole storybook for CB. I don't see why she's holding back now when that context is so relevant to her success. 
 
This album also has a low quality of production compared to her others and the mass leaks got a lot of fans excited for songs that wouldn't get to the final album, creating disappointment in music they might've otherwise loved(K+OL, we're so sorry).
 
Let's just hope when the TV music video comes around it gives us some actual plot, and gives the trolls in the fanbase something better to do than stir constant drama.. If it takes until the end of the era or until the movie comes out to get a real clue wtf is going on though, I'm out lol.
