i love nfr but agreed - i think it's too recent, its impact/meaning just wouldn't be the same as what a sample from many yrs ago could have in terms of intensity and sweeping nostalgia!! sampling something from honeymoon seems likely but i seriously hope it's born to die or video games - besides them being the most iconic songs she could possibly sample, they are what started it all and could encompass sm thematically  and continuing to dream but imagine ldr9 including a melodramatic btd sample going on to win a grammy 

What intrigues me most about the release of Lust For Life is that, when you look back, the album seems so accurate to the time period it was released. I can't explain it, but the album captures the atmosphere of 2017/2018 a lot. Years later we faced a pandemic and witnessed wars, which makes that time still seem OK in comparison.
But there was something in the air - oh, gosh - that made me feel uneasy about the world, and suddenly, all of Lana's positive words made sense to me and were necessary - when, previously, it had felt like hype and hysteria.
At the same time, there were so many fun tracks to entertain us. I don't know, but it seemed like she knew a sad album wasn't appropriate at that time.
Lust for life is a gem.
And it was really fucking hot.

I was so surprised by the news that I just followed and didn't say anything. 
 
But, guys, something I've always loved about Lana's songs is some of the "weird details" she puts into each one, like:
 
- The guy screaming on several BTD tracks;
- The autotune popping at the end of Tulsa Jesus Freak;
- The synth humming at the end of Fuck it I Love You;
- The Gunshots in God Bless America. 
 
Besides being interesting, it gives a lot of substance to the songs, making them unique.
 
And, like: now we're going to have a pastor reciting a sermon, while she laughs?

11 tracks seems so little now 

Oh, gosh, when they complain about piano tracks, they mean piano-only ballads, not Cruel World. 
 
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate piano tracks (and when I say that, it's only piano).
She has already created amazing ballads. When the track is just piano, it naturally creates that feeling that it's going to be very intimate and that we have to pay close attention to what it's going to say. Then out comes Hope, Old Money, and wow, amazing! However, lately we've had something just ok like Beautiful, so I think sometimes it misses out on that piano ballad aura and ends up overdoing it.
 

I prefer to believe that there will be piano, but not throughout the entire track. She can put a drum on top and 5 electric guitars and I forgive her.
 
(Is it possible that Fingertips will only have piano? If she doesn't scream that she doesn't want to live... )

Guys, how long is this album? How many long songs, and there are 16 tracks! What a journey!
