Thinking about Mans World today….
 
i feel like a lot of people didn’t care much for it… but it’s weirdly one of my faves from her post-2015… 
 
it almost doesnt feel like it belongs on ADIAML, but, i think it’s just so catchy… the lyricism and vocal delivery is very froot, reminds me of savages. the production is so nice too… simple yet slightly quirky and effective… 

butterfly fared well with the general public from the looks of it. i’ve noticed those who’d disliked it were only longtime fans who evidently expected much “more” from her. everyone else seemed to enjoy it. i assume Cupid’s Girl will be the same this time around, though there will be less who disliked it and more who enjoyed it judging from the small sample size that is this thread, lol. personally though, judging from the leaked snippet, Princess of Power might be the fan favorite amongst the three singles.

I know a lot of people didn’t like Butterfly, but it must have resonated with the general public. With around 7 million streams, it’s her biggest single by first-month streams, surpassing Venus Fly Trap by about 2 million. Curious to see how Cupid's Girl fares.

honestly really happy that the general consensus seems to be that Cupid’s Girl is a good, even amazing song. big win for the Merna gerls

oh not because of me! basically my stepdad lowkey been abusive my whole life lmao so uh my friend who works in the police called his supervisor who reported him to the police because of some stuff that he was doing/saying that particular night and they came and got me, couldnt sleep without waking up screaming because i thought he came to kill me but its ok we eating now 

well power and control was the second official single and it only has double the streams of the forgotten song hypocrates  if it was an official single i can see it having the same amount or be even more popular. it’s a beautiful track. the beginning is an ear worm.

Marina pleaaaaaase work with songwriters cause the melodies on Cupid's Girl are actually good and so is the production but the lyrics are god-awful. It's kinda annoying how these songs have potential but then she hits us with middle school lyrics like "cupid you're so stupid trying to resist my kiss" and rhymes doom doom doom with boom boom boom

Not Over You is an Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land outtake. It's not on the new album.

valley of the dolls, sex yeah, and ADIAML are prob my top 3 Merna songs. i want another sex yeah so badddd 

Some of snippets kinda reminded me of Dua Lipa meets the Fame Monster era Gaga, definitely the most heavy production she's done on any album since Electra Heart though which I find exciting. 
 
IIRC she announce ADIAML with Purge the Poison so hopefully the album announcement is imminent? Maybe by the end of the month with a late May-early June release date?

agreed tbh! She is chronically trying to show off her high resister to prove she has a pretty voice, and while I absolutely agree that she does, it’s a bit old 
 
I do like that she’s really playing with her voice in butterfly and seemingly this song again tho. Step in the right direction 

I really like the cover art!!! I think it would look good if the album had this hand-drawn minimalistic style too
