He's literally been signed to a major label (Republic) for like two years now and has been a part of the NYC downtown scene (that she's really been into this era) DJing there since like 2019? I think she just liked his music and wanted to do a collab.

I think my main problem was that as she once was my fav artist, separating the music from the insufferable persona she's adopted in the past year was quite hard  it's a nice pop album with disposable bops, but seeing her treat it like some sort of never-done-before opus definitely set my expectations way too high

I  don't know about anyone else but when she was teasing boiler room that is the direction I thought she was going... For me the songs aren't going anywhere near what I would consider to be club records and I preferred what was played at the boiler room vs what she has previewed and released so far 
 
But the songs still sounds good and are fun but the only one that's been a club song imo is von dutch

taylor’s tracklists are notably bad

It's more of the same from her and AG so I get why her stans eat it up but I do think it's weird how many people wanted it on the album when it doesn't sonically fit at all
