Gilmour has vetoed the release of the album unless these liner notes are removed. “He does not dispute the veracity of the history described in Mark’s notes, but he wants that history to remain secret. This is a small part of an ongoing campaign by the Gilmour/[Polly Samson, Gilmour’s wife] camp to claim more credit for Dave on the work he did in Pink Floyd, 1967-1985, than is his due.” I can't find where he talks about the song money, but I am not bullshitting you, and that is what money originally was supposed to be. Yeah I mean Israel is a horrible country that constantly commits terrorism and shoots little children in the face. This video is just propaganda. You wouldn't believe the stuff I hear Israeli soldiers say, such as that they are the superior race and Palestine should be exterminated. It's the grossest things imaginable that are full blown Nazi fascism. He shouldn't be directing it at Jews, but at Israel, but Jews do hold the majority of power globally from banking to corporations.

Out of the loop. Didn't know about it. I know money was supposed to be an acoustic blues song and David wanted it to be a popular radio song.

David was very kind to syd barret and helped him develop his album. That being said, I've always been more biased to Roger and I enjoy his vocal nature about issues. I mostly agree with him even though some things seem he is perhaps being too extreme, but I still thinks he makes solid points. David was a bit of prude after syd left, and was constantly focusing on what would be popular and what would sell. He is an interesting guitar player and I've grown to appreciate David more, but as a teen my friends and i were hardcore syd barret supporters and were a bit anti gilmour but that has all faded. Was listening to a syd record the other night. First time in a long time me and my buddy listened to that album. Psychedelic rock started with him, but sadly, he lost his mind from a lot of bad choices. We were commenting how syd barrett and Daniel Johnston had some things in common. As far as Roger goes, his vision of the wall was of the most phenomenal representations of the beginning of rock opera and it's hard to put the wall and dark side of the moon, or animals into words in the way that's it's aesthetic is an audible movie inside of an album. The way they tied themes together was powerful. They also developed the joystick for stereo phonic panormas of sound which is under looked but quite profound..

Best part of the song. 🌅

Wow she covered I know you rider? Popular grateful dead song. Now I gotta check it out. Thanks. Holy cow, her fingerstyle on that is wild.

Jimi Hendrix - May this be love The middle part is a little off putting but the chorus and solo is choking me up.

I'll hear little vocal tones when listening to Joan and am like hey, that kinda has a lanaesque vibe to it.

Joan Baez sings to prisoners at sing sing and they all broke down into tears. 😭
-
500 miles. 😭😭😭 Gets the audience to sing with her. 🥺 She played some really sad songs.

Joan Baez dedicates a song to the IRS on the bbc. 😮

Still doesn't you see? Nobody knows what she really did!

One last thing about Joan. Sorry..🥴 She was the original Madonna of music. She was basically a quaker, didn't do drugs, didn't have sex, always bare foot, no makeup, etc, yet, YET! They would say she was a whore and a demon! They called her the Madonna of Greenwich village. It was so paradoxical what was said about her and who she was. She was playing guitar in this fantastical way, and singing strangely, and Bob couldn't believe it, or ever copy what she did, yet she was considered just " bobs girlfriend". It was crazy what she went. She was going to jail for protesting multiple times. ( What music artist today would go to jail for protesting?) Was one of the first popular people to protest the Vietnam war and refuse to give the IRS money which sparked a huge anti war movement.she promoted pacifism. She did so much and got no credit for it for many many years.

It was tough for women back then. For real. My mom was given harder tests than her male counterparts. It wasn't until the 80s that women started being respected. Women had it hard back then. Also not really talked about.
-
She was also the most outspoken on gay rights. Hugely influential.
-
Cause she's the queen of folk music, has inspired countless other folk singers, and also inspired lots of women on women rights which was somewhat taboo in the 60s, as well as civil rights, walking with MLK. She was extremely influential to so many but never really got the recognition for it, kinda like Lana. She was my mom's favorite and my mom was obsessed with her and always playing her music. Like how people like Billie elish got started by playing Lana songs. Joan did that and inspired confidence for countless women. Joan is really big deal but it's not really know in mainstream culture. Joan did more for women of that era than anyone. Hands down.

She does seem that she was all tough love to her when she was trying to get her to sing a duet and made her jump through all these hoops, critical of her singing and demanded she not stop dancing until joan did when they went out dancing. but then painted a portrait of her later, so she must have some sort of a gooey center for Lana and not be all tough as nails 24/7.

Bob opened up about it and dropped continual and extensive praise about her in the 2009 documentary. She also totally forgives him and chalks it up to them being in their 20s and were foolish. There is not much else Bob can say and he also doesn't like talking to the public much anymore and is really burnt out about it all. He didn't even want to accept a Nobel prize. He seems he just wants to be left alone at this point. https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/bob-dylan-on-the-love-and-devotion-of-joan-baez-folk/

I'm not a girl or in anyway gay in the slightest and I like her music. But apparently I'm a micro percentage. But some of my friends who appreciate more eclectic abstract or even pop music like some of the songs I play for them. They just never heard of her or know about her more niche songs. They just vaguely heard summertime sadness once or something.

I didn't mean to be rude if that's how it came off. Yes the website they are using are using data analytics but it's just a few things, and not selling every single detail of what kind of food you eat and what movies you are watching, or tapping your phone like what Facebook and Google are doing. It's so you can earn rewards like special offers and such, because you are showing you are a committed fan. Which is what everyone in her fan base wanted.

Thankfully, there is still someone who can think critically, and be an adult on a fan forum. Strange times, I know.
