  1. So I've replayed Disconnect over 30 times already and it's actually a pretty decent song. Not the greatest she's ever released but exciting to get to hear something fresh with her voice on it nevertheless. Excited to see what she's got in store for us in the future. I predict she won't release a full album until next year but I think she might just release a single or two by the end of this year (*hopefully*)
  2. Diet Mountain Dew - New York City Yayo - Yes You National Anthem - God You're So Handsome Radio - How Do You Like Me Now? Million Dollar Man - So Why Is My Heart Broke? ....Gosh ok maybe the titles we have right now aren't that bad after all, considering they could have looked like those ones instead Regardless, I think what annoys me most out of these titles is not just that they're extremely clunky and ugly to look at, but they're actually grammatically incorrect. It should be "Coachella (Woodstock In My Mind)" and "God Bless America (And All the Beautiful Women In It)" instead. Plus, it looks weird and messy when you have to include the artist name next to it: Lana Del Rey - Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind
  3. Not excited at all. The title is ugly as fuck and the snippet sounded like a huge mess. Hopefully Lana proves me wrong though.
  4. Honestly I'm not even that excited for this album anymore. "Love" was a great way to start the era and I love the message it has, but everything since then hasn't really been my cup of tea. "Lust for Life" was a nice little song but it sounds kind of generic, the chorus is extremely repetitive and basic, and half the lyrics are completely nonsensical. I can't even begin on C-WIMM (can't even bear to type out the title it's so tragic). This is quite possibly the worst song Lana has ever released in her entire discography. The message is nice and all but it seems so white girl on tumblr having a whinge about how shitty the world is but doing nothing to actually make a difference. Some of the lyrics are just utter garbage, "what about all these children, and all their children's children?" Really Lana?? and "I thought it was hella cool to win 'em over, critics can be so mean sometimes" ??? SO CRINGY. I cannot believe this song is on the album. It's a disgrace! They better at least have fixed certain elements of the production otherwise I will go right ahead and delete it from my iTunes once again. "Summer Bummer" is 100% the worst title she has ever used on a released song, and other tracks like "Groupie Love", "In My Feelings", "Get Free", "Change" and "Heroin" are either boring as hell or sound so out of place from this record. And don't even get me started on the other clunky ass titles that take 5 years to type out... And the best songs we've heard this era, "Best American Record" and "Roses Bloom For You" are nowhere in sight? What the actual hell? #JUSTICEFORBESTAMERICANRECORD #JUSTICEFORROSESBLOOMFORYOU And ALSO, where is "Yosemite"???? I was hyped to hear this one considering it was more acoustic but nope.... it's scrapped?? The only songs I'm excited for at this point are "Cherry" and "White Mustang", which sound good, but I mean, even the latter sounds like it has a repetitive as fuck chorus and a tired old BTD 2.0 production. Hopefully the music will be good. The Stevie Nicks collab is guaranteed to be amazing and hopefully some of the others come through with amazing production and interesting lyrics. I know there's still so much we haven't heard, so it seems a bit premature to be judging the album, but it's hard to be optimistic for an album that so far seems like one big un-cohesive mess with no artistic direction and ugly song titles.
  5. Can you believe this woman? I've already deleted Roachella from my iTunes library and now she's going to make me download this album and delete it again? The audacity I tell you!!
  6. well hopefully it's a good song. The title is a complete tragedy but I'll reserve judgment until I hear the full
  7. It means that she is living her life like a fake, since plays are scripted and rehearsed. Her life appears perfect but underneath and put together that, there's a lot of hurt and troubles. That's my understanding, anyway.
  8. After reading all of your comments, I thought this song would be a total mess but it's actually really good in my opinion! Definitely not her greatest and I doubt I'll listen to this that often but the production is actually really clean and her vocals sound amazing! I have missed her voice so much and getting new material from her is so exciting for me, even though I'd prefer something else. I think the live version was a bit "harder" whereas the studio version is more subdued and emotional, but I actually really like that change. It's a shame it took so long for the song to be released, though. Even though I enjoy it, I have to admit that my hype for this song died down a lot after two years of waiting for it, so unfortunately, the experience of listening to this song for the first time was a bit anti-climactic seeing as I already knew all of the lyrics and the melodies. I do think she is heading into a more pop direction for the next record of her own, though, going off the producers she's been working with and her presence on this Clean Bandit track. I trust that the songs she's making will be better than this (fingers crossed)
  9. WOW I can't believe it, we are finally getting Disconnect. Hopefully this is the signal of the end of that long-ass FROOT era and a sign of moving towards something refreshing! Also, can we talk about this STUNNING new selfie??

I don't think it sounds dated, although, I don't listen to it much lately since I've replayed it a lot. It still sounds very modern to me. She does need to release the Mad Hatter video though!

wow ... you've suddenly gone from my fave person on the boards to my least fave
  13. You betcha Lana will be posting this on her instagram any time now Bookmark me!
  14. Not gonna lie... why do I see Lana pulling this shit when July 21?....
  15. Would you care to explain how so? There's a clear distinction between "political" and "psychological" or "societal". I understand the two can overlap but I don't see how there is anything even remotely political on FROOT.
  16. Nothing political on FROOT. "Savages" is really not political as much as it is psychological or directed towards human nature through observation.
  17. Definitely can see the connection between the chords now that you've posted this, but 99% sure that this will never happen.

I don't know if this is an unpopular (and perhaps controversial) opinion, but I didn't really like the response that Sana's mother had when she saw the text message from Yousef come up on the screen. I understand what she was saying, that Sana should marry a man who is Muslim because she needs someone who respects her faith and can walk that spiritual journey with her, and remind her why she is Muslim, but for me it sounded like she was trying to brush off Sana's feelings for Yousef as a "phase". It reminded me of those parents who tell their gay kid that it's just a "phase" and one day they will marry someone of the opposite sex. Because by telling Sana that one day she will understand why she needs to marry a Muslim just seems pathetic to me. I know her mother had the right intentions, but I much preferred Elias' response (Sana's brother), where he said that it's more important for her to be with someone who makes her happy and "acts" like a Muslim, rather than someone who is Muslim and goes to the mosque but does not behave like one. I suppose it's a bit of a generational difference, with the parents being more conservative and traditional and the younger people being more progressive and open to different outcomes. But to me, what Sana's mother said seemed like she was ignoring her daughter's feelings and trying to tell her what to feel and what to do with her life, which I didn't like. And please don't come at me saying I'm "Islamophobic"; I completely respect everyone's rights to practice whatever religion they wish to. I just don't like anyone feeling as if they are being forced to conform to any sort of religious practices, whether they belong to that religion or not. Surely we all should have the right to decide which religious practices we wish to follow, and which ones we don't?
  19. This girl better release at least one single before the album drops. It's almost Christmas at this point
  20. I'm pretty sure this is the wrong place to be putting this, but I just changed my username to @delreyfreak to match with my Instagram page of the same name (shameless self-promotion, I know) and I am extremely happy! I've been meaning to do this for a while (ever since Lana revealed that the lyric in Salvatore was "calciatore" not "cacciatore" ). Felt like I needed to let everyone know lol (even though no one probably cares )

wow I have finally caught up to the current episode. Episode 7 of S4 had me SHOOK!.... the girls all forgave Sana for the Instagram hate page and that scene where they all basically gave a big fuck you to those bitchy girls with their new van was GOLD. I actually cried in that scene, because I didn't know if they would end up forgiving Sana (especially Eva, since she kept saying she was going to kill whoever made the page!) I also cannot believe William came back!! I was honestly so confused as to what would end up happening with the Noora/William storyline since it was dragged out for quite some time, but this is EVERYTHING! I am so glad they're back together. And knowing that Sana and Yusef like each other (and he even described them as "soulmates") melts my heart. I love their relationship and it makes me so happy that they both like each other. Also, I saw the new "Guru Advising" clip and omg Eskild never fails to make me laugh!
