Lust For Life - Pre-Release Thread

I agree with @@Yosemite. Plus the reason she probably doesn't feel like she 'fits in' is because she's a famous singer and she would end up having to stop to take photos, meet fans, sign things etc. which takes away from the whole point of going to a march to make a political statement -

Only listened to the snippets once and not going to listen again until the album release on July 21, as I want my first full listening experience to be perfect! The thing I like about listening once is that I can an insight into what the album as a whole will sound like, but it's only such a brief listen that I can't properly remembered the melodies, just the vibe. So my first listen will still be amazing, and these snippets have just made me more hyped for the album. -

Just saw this ad on Facebook for Lust for Life! Anyone else seen this? https://www.facebook.com/lanadelrey/videos/10154600916921466/ -
70 No way it will top Honeymoon in critics' eyes, songs like Lust for Life are too commercial and a misstep like Coachella will not be ignored.

Plus, right-wing is more capitalist while left-wing is more socialist. Born to Die is clearly her capitalist album with bops like National Anthem ("money is the anthem of success, everybody knows it, it's a fact, kiss, kiss") and so on, so it makes sense it would be more right-wing. -

Well hopefully they'll fix it by the time July 21 comes around!! And idk why his name is all capitalized, it looks ugly as hell. Oh well I guess I can just edit the title afterwards lol -

So I didn't read through all of those last ten million pages because I actually have a life, but I stayed up until 2 am last night listening to that radio premiere and the new songs, as well as witnessing your meltdowns haha. I LOVE LOVE LOVE both Summer Bummer and Groupie Love. Wasn't too hyped for Summer Bummer but it turned out to be amazing in the end. It's more haunting than I expected, which is a nice touch, especially with Lana's siren-esque vocals in the background. It's such a dark, intriguing song and the piano in the background is one of my fave elements of it. Groupie Love is probably the better of the two in my personal opinion. (Although I will have to listen to them both a bit more before I can truly decide). I agree with the JFK vibe some of y'all got - I didn't hear it upon first listen but now I can't unhear it. As for Yosemite not being on the album, yes, it's a bit annoying that she kept talking about it when she wasn't putting it on the album, but it's honestly kind of hard for me to be truly disappointed because we haven't actually heard it yet, so I can deal with not having it. Unfortunately I can't exactly say the same about Roses Bloom For You and Architecture, which I thought would have been perfect on the record, but whatever, I suppose there was no practical way to release 18+ songs. So for the moment I'm just happy we're getting new music and finally this era is alive and breathing!!! Woo!!! Anyway, maybe she'll put those tracks on another record or release them in some other way (or they might leak at some point ) -

Even though I'm super excited to hear the songs, I'm lowkey more hyped over everyone's meltdowns when they either love or hate the tracks -

Well, it's probably not 5pm sharp. If Lana is featured on the radio show then it might be later, plus they often spend a bit of time hyping the song up and giving a whole backstory and stuff, I'm pretty sure last time with High By The Beach they actually played Video Games and Summertime Sadness before they premiered it. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see. -
wow yellow actually looks so good on her here, makes her look really young and happy, which is quite fitting for the LFL era

Wow it's so nice to come on here and for once, seeing everyone actually being nice to each other and having something get excited over. Cannot wait for these songs to drop. Hold on tight to your wig, West Coast, you may just be dethroned as Lana's magnum opus when I listen to Groupie Love in full for the first time... that snippet sounded like the best thing I've ever heard in my life, no lie -
honestly love this era already. The visuals, the aesthetic, the hair, Praying, the song titles, the album cover, the Dolly Parton feature, the fuck you to Dr. Luke, everything is just brilliant!

I'm not asking you to feel sorry for her if her music leaks. I'm just saying that you should have some respect for her by at the very least letting her release her own music on her own terms. I understand that in terms of promotion, this era has been a bit messy and lacklustre, but frankly, it still disgusts me seeing people literally praying that her material leaks weeks before its official date. It reeks of self-entitlement, and selfishness, in my opinion. Lana has worked tirelessly on this record, as she has on all of her past releases. Yes, as fans, the delays have been annoying as fuck to deal with, but at the end of the day we are getting new material so soon. It's greedy to think that Lana owes you something new all the time and you look extremely impatient and childish believing that you are entitled to whatever you want whenever you want. Is it really that difficult to wait a couple of days for two brand new singles (which already sound amazing, by the way) and then only a few weeks after that for the entire 16 TRACK album? -
Oh thank goodness, I was fucking angry when I thought she was working with Dr Luke again after everything that went down with Kesha. The titles "You" and "Worth It" kind of sound boring though, not going to lie. I know we already had a confirmation that she was working with different people, but here are the (admittedly sparse) credits of past music these people have worked on: Joe Janiak Jesse St. John High-key very happy she worked with a couple of guys from Britney Spears' masterpiece "Glory", even if their input was only minimal

Apart from the awkward and poorly edited lip syncing, this is an AMAZING video and I love the diversity of the girls and the feminist message of girls sticking together. Plus the song is one of my faves from the album!
