  1. I appreciate your enthusiasm but honestly this was probably the worst Christmas album I've ever heard. Unpopular opinion, I'm sure, but it hardly felt festive to me at all. I'll give it another listen closer to Christmas but I mean I doubt I'll like it much better

    Sia

Surprised no one is talking about how Sia just leaked her nudes on Instagram... WTF
  4. so beautiful omg I would love if her next era/album serves these sorts of flowery and tropical looks
  5. Not sure how y'all are making up "holy trinities" for this album, when there is only one real Holy Hexadecagon: Love, Lust For Life, 13 Beaches, Cherry, White Mustang, Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, In My Feelings, Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind, God Bless America - And All the Beautiful Women In It, When The World Was At War We Kept Dancing, Beautiful People Beautiful Problems, Tomorrow Never Came, Heroin, Change and Get Free. Every song on this album is perfect and if you disagree you're delusional.

Ok, I've listened to the album and here are my categorisations upon first impression. Perfect (10/10): sorry, nothing here Pretty Good (7-9/10): Look What You Made Me Do, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, Call It What You Want, New Year's Day Mediocre (4-6/10): Don't Blame Me, ...Ready For It?, I Did Something Bad, Gorgeous, Delicate, So It Goes..., Getaway Car, King of My Heart, Dress TERRIBLE, please delete from the face of this earth immediately (0-3/10): End Game Overall, I am pretty disappointed. I really wanted to like the album and I gave it a listen with an open mind, but most songs just fell flat for me. I was actually totally here for her 'bad girl' era, but other than LWYMMD she totally failed to live up to my expectations. The album feels too "tame" for the image she was trying to put out. If she was going to do this sort of image she needed to go big or go home and she just did not deliver the darkness I wanted. Some of the production elements are pretty weird and not fitting for the song or her style, such as those annoying voice filters, and the bass has been upped so much that it actually hurts your ears and feels weird to listen to. A lot of the songs sound almost the exact same as well and it just feels so unoriginal and uncreative. Lyrics are also pretty boring and actually a lot of them make absolutely no sense, plus her delivery is quite uninspired and boring as well. Her rap/talking style of delivery on this album just doesn't work for me, and takes away a lot of the emotion that she used to have with her older country songs which I liked a lot more as they felt a lot more authentic and genuine, whereas Reputation feels very calculated and formulaic, resulting in possibly her most uninspired work yet. If there wore songs in the vein of "New Year's Day" I'd literally love this album so much because that's literally the only song on the album with any sort of genuine emotion being expressed.
  7. Dude, I don't care what your political views are. I cannot tell you how many family members/relatives and friends I have that disagree with me on almost every political/social issue but I do not silence them. I believe you should be banned because you are supporting conversion therapy, sexual assault and violence, and insulting minorities, and that is unacceptable and I'm pretty sure that would be against the rules of this site, regardless of your political views.
  8. It's nice, but instrumental feels a bit sparse/empty? Idk Also why is it called "End of the Night" if she says "EDGE" instead of "end"
  9. Also can I just say... no disrespect intended but how does this binch expect to work on new music and release an album "soon" while she is studying an entire fucking Psychology degree at university and travelling around Japan on a holiday, while running MarinaBook, retweeting pretentious philosophy memes, and maintaining her relationship with Jack, family, friends and everyone else?? Me looking for even the slightest proof that she actually wants to release new music, as she says:
  10. Y'all are delusional... the only best to worst ranking should be as follows: Happy Froot Immortal Gold I'm a Ruin Blue Solitaire Weeds Can't Pin Me Down Savages Forget Better Than That EDIT: mess I couldn't remember one of the songs and it was Forget... I just forgot Forget... at least it's living up to it's name Also I feel a need to clarify that even though Savages is quite low down on my ranking, I actually love it overall. The lyrics are some of her best and I wish she would write more songs in this vein lyrically, but in terms of production I find it's a little bland, other than the last minute or so where she's just humming, that is heaven!
  11. Can we PLEASE ban this dude? Obviously he is a troll and he has undoubtedly spammed this thread, among others, with useless and insensitive drivel... Insulting women, gays, immigrants, and condoning sexual assault, supporting the people who literally hung dolls of Obama on a noose and supporting gay conversion therapy??? How is he not banned yet? He literally admitted he takes drugs and all his writing is clearly coming from some state of hallucination.
  12. As a student of psychology, I cannot believe how many symptoms of mental illnesses and personality disorders Trump exhibits constantly. Unverified feelings of superiority, delusions, tendency to cause conflict, argumentativeness, high levels of disagreeableness and skepticism, neurotic and psychotic tendencies, repeated lies and the list goes on. It is a shame there is a rule in the USA where psychologists are barred from speaking up when they believe a political candidate may have a serious mental illness or disorder that could severely impact their ability to carry out their duties. There's actually a movement in America right now by a number of mental health professionals who want to reverse the 'Goldwater Rule' so that they may voice their opinions about when they deem a candidate to be largely unfit for the role. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/02/24/health/trump-mental-illness-professionals-question-goldwater-rule/index.html?sr=twCNN022417trump-mental-illness-professionals-question-goldwater-rule1214PMVODtopLink&linkId=34840054

I finally realised what a lot of the visuals from this era remind me of, particularly the album cover...
  17. Honestly this album is genuinely everything
  18. delreyfreak

    Taylor Swift

Honestly was lowkey getting ready to stan her when she first started this era with all of the dark imagery and sounds but so far nothing after Look What You Made Me Do actually stayed in that vein. For me it's LWYMMD > RFI > CIWYWT > Gorg Her lyricism and aesthetic always seemed so dull and uninspired to me, like its so recyclable from every other song and image out there (let's not even start with how much she copies Lana with the whole "vintage" theme and even steals her melodies).

    Melanie Martinez

what the hell does "banana well" even mean?? All I can think about is Lana Banana
  20. woah dude calm down, no need to swear at me. I was just genuinely curious if she worked with him and wanted to find out, so asked what she worked with him on to find out. Didn't say she got to pick the photographers either, literally just asked if she worked with him...
  21. omg I can't believe none of y'all are talking about her hair!!! I wonder if she has permanently dyed it this color or whether its just a wig or part of a Halloween outfit or something?? this is amazing, I would love her next album to be more Lizzy-esque. It would make so much sense considering ending of Get Free is "out of the black, into the blue" which she sings in her old Lizzy voice! ahhhhh hope she comes through with beach blonde baby visuals next album!
  22. This is soooo random and irrelevant, but I was just watching a video about a sperm donor who has fathered over 800 children and suddenly Marina's song "Rootless" starts playing (at 3:11 in the video) Just had to share, this is hilarious and also weird
