Wow... Charli getting more promo than Lana... Saw this on my iTunes store Also, does anyone else think that parts of the melody of Babygirl sound similar to Fancy? Anyone else hearing this or am I going mad???
  6. I thought I remembered her saying at some point that it was a Honeymoon song but then when she was presented with the opportunity to write for the Big Eyes soundtrack she decided to rework it for that instead
  7. What has been going on in here lately? All those Adele gifs?? I mean come on I love Adele as much as the next person but spamming her all over a LANA DEL REY forum about a LANA DEL REY album?? Really?? And then arguing whether the song is really called BAR or Architecture?? Have some patience and wait till we get told by the queen herself. ... Then y'all are saying that Lana's music is bad if it doesn't chart?? Um goodbye Lana's music is miles ahead of half the garbage that "charts" nowadays... I stan talent, not generic recycled shitty mainstream pop trash that everyone else is making. If you can't appreciate Lana's brilliance then get out, honestly. And the worst sin of them all... comparing a queen like LDR to trash like Meghan Trainor and Halsey??? Y'all are a messssss
  8. Well, isn't she a witch now... she probably shrunk some of her twinks for leaking her shit
  9. I agree. It's a brilliant album in its own right but half the tracks have random screaming men every 0.5 seconds and reuse the same crusty samples and sounds in the instrumentals. UV is truly her magnum opus and I will honestly be surprised if Lana ever creates anything as innovative and well-crafted as it.
  10. That Spotify playlist Lana created is a mess. How can a Best of LDR album not include West Coast, Shades of Cool, Brooklyn Baby, Pretty When You Cry, Music To Watch Boys To, Salvatore and so on??? I mean, at least a few UV and HM songs deserved to be in that mix! Also, WTF are Lucky Ones, Carmen and Radio doing in there?? I doubt anybody on this site would honestly say they are considered her best songs at all. lmao

I think the song is about her fame and the impact it has had on those close to her. The start of the song seems to be about her boyfriend breaking up with her and then she realizes that she should start focusing on self-love and building up a good relationship with HERSELF, since it's "the only love" that she "hasn't screwed up". She talks about how others might see her being alone in a room dancing by herself and crying as a sad scene but to her, it's about self-love and just being at peace with herself. To me, the chorus is completely about her fame and how people get to a point where they don't want to know her anymore because being in the public eye and having to continue a relationship with a famous person is now "too much", hence the fact she refers to herself as a "liability" - because she knows that others feel like their privacy is being compromised by having a connection to her. The second verse is elaborating on this idea, highlighting how people use her for fame but then once they've got what they want out of her (i.e. getting famous themselves perhaps), they abandon her and move on, just like a kid will play with a toy until it is destroyed or doesn't work anymore and there is no immediate use for it anymore. I find the ending to be really beautiful and hopeful though. Even though she knows people in the past (possibly her boyfriend as referenced in the first verse) have used her fame for their own advantage and abandoned her when it got too much, she also knows that there is a bright future ahead for her and everyone is going to have no choice but to "watch her". I suppose you could also interpret the ending as sad if you see the sun metaphor as her "disappearing" from the lives of those people who were using her for fame, but I personally prefer the more hopeful one.

wow this is amazing!! Such a quality release and definitely reminding me why I stan this woman (since for me, I found half the songs on Vroom Vroom disappointing). Roll With Me, Dreamer, 3AM (Pull Up), Emotional, ILY2.... they're all just so amazing I can't

  14. Queen of wearing all black but still looking happy and cute
  15. Just a few notes... 1. The "architecture" line is likely referencing how this guy would use the fact that Lana was already established as an artist to get fame for himself, but could also be a reference to the architecture of the "houses of the holy" she sings in the following line, or also as others have suggested, could be her body, perhaps how they got intimate together. This line also reminds me of the lyric in Cruel World, "you're dancing circles around me"... which could perhaps have a similar meaning relating to how a guy would take advantage of her fame for his own advantage. 2. The other thing is that those "beeps" you hear at the start are the sounds that the music programs GarageBand and Logic Pro make before you start a recording - it's like a count-in so the person singing/recording knows when the recording will start. 3. Because of this sound, I highly doubt this is the final version. There is no way Lana or any producer with integrity or credibility would be silly enough to leave this sound on the final track. It would be amateur, pointless and they would be mocked by music critics since it is a sound from a music software typically pre-installed on computers. And by the way, I agree with the idea that in the verses she is singing about her man; while in the pre-chorus & chorus she is singing about herself. The pronouns clearly change from "he" to "you", which obviously means she is singing about two different people. It's not uncommon for Lana to use other pronouns to refer to herself. For example, in Carmen and Lolita she uses pseudonyms to describe herself. She has done this is in other songs as well by sampling saying "she" or "you" to refer to herself, so it wouldn't be a first. Just a thought.

Well each to their own, I suppose. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I think it's a good song either way and I will definitely support her when her album comes out but for me I just don't feel any sort of emotional attachment to it like a lot of PH songs, but I'm sure that Melodrama will have a variety of songs so I'm sure there will be others I will like more, especially since her lead single "Royals" was never my absolute fav from PH either.

Honestly, I'm not really feeling it. Pure Heroine was an AMAZING album and in comparison, this track Green Light is just really underwhelming for me. I mean, I like it and it's a nice song, but I feel like after three years I was expecting something a bit more. Hopefully I will grow to like this track more than I currently do, but as a first-time listener it sounds jumbled, messy and uninteresting. The best songs she's written in my opinion, are the ones that have a lot of emotion and thought put into them.... songs like "Buzzcut Season", "Ribs" and "Team", for example. Unfortunately "Green Light" just completely lacks any sort of emotion for me.
  19. I absolutely love these interpretations but I feel like they ignore the line about Bill though
