I love how this song seems to combine elements of every era/album so far. The melody is very similar to her Sirens/May Jailer songs, while the beats give me a BTD vibe, the guitars remind me of a stripped back UV and her vocals sound very similar to HM but even more beautiful! I'm also reminded of unreleased songs like Wayamaya and also with that Because of You lyrical flashback. Queen of just getting better and better!

My biggest concern about listening to this song if it is the demo is that when the final version comes out I will have played the demo so much that I end up liking it way better, like with Black Beauty... I reckon the final is not as good as the demo since I overplayed the demo before the polished version came out

Wow, this is a really good interpretation. I interpreted it as he was so obsessed trying to be famous and acknowledged by a lot of people in the industry and the wider general public that he was abandoning the people that mattered most in his life, including Lana. Idk, I like your way of viewing it better though. Btw, does anyone know if this really is a demo we have or the official final production? For me, the production sounds really really good if this is just a demo so it's hard to tell. Although the beeps at the start are from Garageband so probably a demo??

On another note, the Video Games video has gone up a heap in views since the Love video as well! Also interesting how it really started at such a low point (sometimes I forget this was her first 'big' song she had). Anyway, it's just super interesting how RIGHT THIS MOMENT, she has gotten SO many views on Video Games - it is literally almost double the amount of views it got at its last peak in 2012 when it blew up!! Very very cool to consider the absolutely monumental impact that Love has had!! Hoping that the rest of the album will keep up engagement with her music as well!!

Good news! BBC Radio 1 has been playing Love on their channel. In fact, it's been played 7 times already! Although it's not a massive number it is still pretty good considering for the last few years Lana has barely had any plays on radio (apart from the occasional replay of BTD era music) In contrast, High By The Beach only got 5 plays on BBC Radio in its first week.

This is exciting stuff peeps! I'm glad she's reusing the same director, I think he did a fantastic job on Love and I like the idea of having him on other videos too. It just ensures that all the videos will feel like they belong to the same era. Plus, he did such a good job, why not reuse him?

This is very interesting but y'all do the most... Lana is obviously not a Satanist. She has said a number of times she identifies as Catholic, and as the user above posted, Satanists are actually atheists and do not believe in a god/gods or a devil, which is inconsistent with Lana's belief in God. Lana has plenty of songs linked to her belief in God, for example "God Knows I Tried" which is very much a plea to God to help her through the struggles of fame, and so on. And don't forget her lovely tweet: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I hope that I don't have a single bit of talent left, and say, I used everything you gave me." Obviously she is not a strict Catholic in the sense that she has mentioned not going to church every week and she is very supportive of LGBTQIA+ rights and a lot of her songs would be considered sacrilegious, for example Gods and Monsters and even the Tropico video which subverts a lot of Christian iconography. I think she certainly has an interest in the occult and in paganism. I mean, y'all seem to forget that she studied metaphysics at university, for goodness' sake! But just because she uses a particular religion or pagan idea for a music video and a quick post on Twitter, doesn't mean she is actively practising anything. Besides, you can be a Christian witch, as the rituals and spells that are performed are generally to bring positive energies and forces into our lives, which doesn't really go against Christianity at all. (Yes, some could argue that Christians are against the idea of witchcraft and magic, claiming it is the work of the devil, but if they truly understood the purpose of these rituals they would see that they are really just personal expressions of an individual's inner needs and wants, and tend to be positive in nature). Anyway, I think she is a casual Catholic but also dabbles in other belief systems and practices such as astrology, witchery and paganism. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with this. Even if she is a Satanist, that is her decision. So long as she doesn't go around killing people, praising the devil and sacrificing animals, I don't see why anyone should have a problem with whatever she believes in. It's her choice and it is not our place to judge her beliefs.

If you actually read about it, the spell is actually supposed to PROTECT him, so that he doesn't make bad decisions that affect others. It actually fits very nicely with her single Love, because this spell comes from a place of LOVE as opposed to HATE. Also, I'm surprised no one mentioned on this thread her comment about her 2013 Brits outfit. Honestly the concept of the video is pretty boring but it's actually been executed very well so it's interesting to watch!
