Honeymoon - Pre-Release and Discussion Thread

I am literally SO excited for MTWBT, I love how I have almost no idea what to expect in terms of its sound. Like, it sounds as if it could be a total bop like the ever iconic Off to the Races, but I have a feeling it might actually be a bit more slower, probably mid-tempo, especially considering the placement on the Honeymoon tracklist. Praying it has a West Coast vibe, because that song still slays me literally EVERY time I hear it -

Does that mean you hate yourself? I hate stereotyping but pretty much every guy on this forum, including myself, is a raging homosexual, except for like maybe InTheSummer -

I hate to be that person who only wants BTD-like songs, but I do hope there's at least one more bop on HM. -
LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
delreyfreak replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
I'd like to think Lana isn't that shallow and predictable, but now that I think about, I feel like you could be right with your HM prediction -
Honestly, they're my favourite bits

Looks like it could be "hazy"? Idk but Im pretty sure it definitely starts with h

Watch half of these be better than the actual lyrics And didn't we already see in the booklet, she mentions something about dancing around insanely in a red party dress or something, or did I dream that? I swear there was some lyric about Lana's red dress again

Not gonna lie, I don't think there'll ever be a Lana song that tops West Coast or Off to the Races in terms of production, the production on those two literally slay my world -
Usually I'd say it'd be reaching to say Lana actually cares about winning awards, but if it's against Taylor, I think you do have a point. After all, FMWUTTT is supposedly written about Taylor Swift (and Lorde) and we all know how Taylor pretty much stole Lana's style and tried to brand it as her own.

Just posted this on the Unpopular Lana Opinions thread & thought I'd copy/paste it here as well, since it's relevant... I think she personified the media as a lover in this song. Obviously you can't really write a lead single saying "fuck you, articles, reviews, critics, paparrazi, etc. I hate you!" because no one would really relate to it. So she personifies the media as a lover because that way lots of people can relate to the song and it can be lead single material for the GP to hear. She tries to make it sound like the song is about another one of her bad boys, but really it's about the media, who is her lover in a way, because there are positives about the media, and obviously, without it, she wouldn't be able to be doing what she is doing today, but at the same time, the media is an enemy to her, because of all the negativity/criticism it's brought into her life, plus her invasion of privacy. She kind of has a love-hate relationship with the media, and that's why in the video she's seen approaching the helicopter at the window and posing (because a part of her loves the attention and the fame) but by the end, she's fed up of all the side-effects of being involved in the media (and therefore she shoots the helicopter down). Anyway, I think I'm rambling on a bit and my words are a bit jumbled, but hopefully you get the gist of what I'm trying to say.

I'm gonna be using a fan made cover for Honeymoon (as guilty as that makes me feel)…

I had a feeling that Lana would find a way to amalgamate the styles of all her previous eras into the songs of this album, and I really think she has so far. Honeymoon = sounds most similar to Paradise, especially songs like Bel Air and Yayo, which are lighter (+ it has that tropical Paradise vibe) High By The Beach = sounds a lot like a Born to Die track, with that hip-hop inspired beat and its catchy melodies Terrence Loves You = definitely sounds like something she would have released on Ultraviolence, it has that trademark vocal reverb with a "jazzy" influence and guitars Even though this album has a very refreshing, unique sound, it is quite clear that each song does have its similarities with her past eras. Personally, I'm hoping there are more tracks on Honeymoon that sound most similar to the songs of Ultraviolence. -

Exactly, and Chuck had nothing to do with the graphics either. The actual image she shot isn't that bad, but it's just not really iconic enough for an album cover art imo. Something like the HBTB cover would have SLAYED as the album cover. -
Lana's lyrics seem to get worse and worse each era tbh

No one's sure at the moment. It's purely speculation those titles are on a "deluxe" edition
