What if it was a Diet MTN Dew demo, but recorded with the Phenomena?!

    Thanks

Indulge this theory for a second, please, I'm feeling pretty good about it:

Lana has gone on record saying that her first three singles--"Video Games", "Born to Die", and "Blue Jeans"--are a trilogy. As a fanbase, it's our job to read really far into this. A safe point to jump to is that these songs are a trilogy in the sense that they're all about the same love story. I readily accepted this for a while and assigned this trilogy to her criminal love story, K. "Blue Jeans" has the most detail of any of these three songs, specifically relating back to "For K", so this as a logical jump of intuition. But if you think about it, really think about it, these songs don't have any particular details in common. Sure, they're all mournful. But it ends there.

Just recently, some stalkers insiders made it vaguely apparent that they were positive "Video Games" is about Mike Mizrahi. Mike's story doesn't cohesively fit with the mysterious K's, so we're all left in the dust of that trilogy theory. But that's how Lana herself described it--a trilogy. So what if these three songs aren't a trilogy in the sense that they all connect back to one guy, but that they connect to three separate things she holds dear. For instance, what if this trilogy is about the three most important loves of her life?

It makes sense, doesn't it? She cast Bradley Soileau in "Born to Die" based on his appearance, which bears some striking similarities to Jimmy Gnecco's. And just reading this thread, it's impossible not to get the sense that these were Lana's most important relationships--held above Bill and possibly Chris and whoever she dated as a teenager. "Video Games" being about Mike, "Born to Die" being about Jimmy, and "Blue Jeans" being about K.

    Problems with this:
    - Born to Die. Very K, right? Wrong. Who's to say that she means die in the literal sense? She sings last thing I saw before I died, and lo and behold, she's not dead.
    - Bradley Soileau, the model equivalent of Jimmy Gnecco, is also in "Blue Jeans". So that song must be about Jimmy, right? Wrong. See, she was already in a professional relationship with Bradley at that point, and maybe even a less-than-professional one. People were fascinated with his image. Business-wise, casting Bradley was a natural move. She originally cast him for "Born to Die" based on his looks--but did she ever say the same for the decision in "Blue Jeans"? As far as I know, the answer is no.

Shower me with praise or comments.

hey! this is the place for some relationship info (and speculation) i posted on the LANA SLEUTHING thread, so i'm copying it here:

(...) if the ex-boyfriend(s) knew her 5 years ago, it would've been 2007 and i speculated it could be jimmy gnecco or reeve carney, but i didn't think of arthur lynn, her guitarist in "lizzy and the phenomena"! she *allegedly* had a fling with him, but who knows?

still, i hope it's jimmy they talked to now, he's never explicitly referred to lizzy/lana, and we have no photos of them together, but when i heard his song "saints" (written for jeff buckley ♥) that he performed live in 2011 with reeve, and the intro *was* "little girls/put me in a movie" that's a confirmation of sorts to me. maybe he inspired that riff and loved it and thought, "hell, i wanna use it"? along with lizzy's posting of "yayo" on his facebook wall way back when, dedicated to he of the blue ink snake tatoo, and the songs she refers to him by name, well...it's proof enough for me that they were together

THERE'S MORE INFO, like the (quite telling) link to arthur's blog by evilentity and the much awaited screenshot of lizzy's post of "yayo" on jimmy gnecco's facebook back in 2009 by trailerparkdoll in the LANA SLEUTHING thread. sitar, you can copy that and all the relevant new details over here, right? all hail the nancy drews and sherlocks of the forum!

I'm honestly just assuming they were friends/knew each other since Van worked for A&R + 5 points which Lizzy was signed to. Reeve isn't listed as an artist but he's in the pictures http://www.myspace.com/5pointsrecords

These are the Lizzy pics on Nick's myspace. They were also somewhere on his music site. http://www.myspace.com/athingortwo/photos/67907396#%7B%22ImageId%22%3A67907396%7D She looks so young here

    She's a 1million piece puzzle. It's all very confusing

and listen to this...hello "little girls"! (!!!)

still floored at the possibility of "get drunk" being about these two gorgeous and talented guys (good to see they're still amigos!)
    TrailerParkDarling, just...

Whoa! How have I missed that? That's one-hundred percent nuts and affects everything!

As for cocaine, I mean that seems a little drastic but not totally insane. I just jump to alcohol because that's what she's talked about having the most trouble with. On her old twitter she posted a few things about how she thought about it all the time.

Honestly, I saw pictures of her at a festival.. the one where Barrie was there with her, and the way she was touching her nose made me think cocaine.. and I was thinking about how alive she seemed onstage compared to before. Everyone I've talked to who has seen her live said she acted like she was 'on something'.. Also remember she oddly canceled some shows. (She coulda really just been sick) Ah, who knows, I hope not and I hope she's alright. If she did relapse, I could understand why she might wanna quit music

One last thing, I think 'Get Drunk' is about Reeve and Jimmy. They were good friends, have videos performing together, and Lana has been linked to both. Plus, Jimmy and Lana (allegedly) met in AA. Although, I don't know the timelines so I could be 1000% wrong.

Yasss, the greatness of this post!. Lanalyzing (whoo coinage!) might be hard going into this era because of potential new relationships. That's a good theory, though. I wouldn't be surprised if it involved her alcoholism. Can't wait for the interviews for this album talking about the details of new material.

And also why she resurrected a 6/7 year old song

I just listened to Velvet Crowbar for the first time in a long while and I realized I mishears TONS of lyrics in this song. Here we go:
"My baby's on his eight leg darling" How the hell does someone have eight legs? I don't know. Unless they are an octopus.
"Always on the run" Not a hard mix-up.
"Burned yourself out, nothin' less" Again, not a very hard mix-up.
"I pray you'll stop breathing" I kind of lost respect for Lana when I thought it was this. That was a long time ago, haha.

i always thought that are the actual lyrics... :ashamed:

i thought it's "Yes, of course i brought my/bought a gun" and that fits so much in the song and now i'm just disappointed.

    "National Anthem [Demos]"
After Lana says, "Um, do you think you'll buy me lots of diamonds?" I used to think the guy said,
    "Yes, and also, a gun."

Finding out that it was actually "Yes, of course I will, my darling," was a bittersweet experience.

    "Boarding School"
I thought it was "You're crashing on Wall Street while I'm blowing a passive singer."
Sometimes I like to still convince myself that Lana says that.

    "Ride"
I hear "You can be my photon, daddy, white and gold," though it seems it's definitely "full-time daddy," photon just seems so right to me.

    "Summer of Sam"
    I used to hear, "Baby, I'm a ten-minute girl."

    "Radio"
I still hear "Wake me up and take me like a vitamin," every now and again.

I'm sure I've misheard other lyrics, as well, but those are the only ones I can recall.

Listen to Cola live. She sings Harveys and I come alive alive

btw I always thought in Carmen she sang "she gives em butterflies, but too coco-something"
in BTD "is it by mistake or desire" and when she says "sometimes love" I thought "SantaClaus"

I hear "come alive, alive". And sometimes I hear "Harvey's in the sky" and sometimes I hear "Holly's in the sky" and sometimes I hear "Ah, he's in the sky".

Is that what it really is? I've never been clear on this. And we are 100% certain that it's Harvey's in the sky? What the hell is that?

Also in TIWMUG, it says "high heels in her hand". I always thought it said "flyers in her hand" and had this image of a drunk girl passing out flyers for something on the side of the road while Lana just leans against a chain link fence and smokes a cigarette..
It's a beautiful image, I tell you. It really is.

I never ever heard "audio tune lies" in Carmen. I still don't. I always hear something like "party overnight" or "party girl tonight" or "part of her two eyes" or SOMETHING. I don't know. I just hear babbling.
