This song is sooooo good. Which reminds me, we've never really discussed fave Femme songs? I think that would be worthwhile. I strongly fuck with High, Lost in Translation, and Propulsion sounds like a fave waiting to happen. (By contrast I don't like Fever Boy, Give 2 U, or most of the covers EP.)

Not that the rest of the world cares, but I take some solace in the fact that most of her fuck ups seem to be not exactly her fault. Playback fucked it up from the jump which left her awkward and phoned in throughout the whole thing. Then trying to make her do dumbass choreography was a big mistake when they shoulda just ran with her natural stage presence (further evidence that they didn't want MØ they just wanted some hip Charli-esque singer). And they really tried to make her look like Lorde so now we have to deal with those comparisons.

His album hasn't even come out so let's not all latch onto the doubt because she's not on his single release. Albums get delayed all the time. Remember that they worked together after Lana had already enlisted Dan Auerbach for Ultraviolence so there's a possibility it was for this! Not to mention he's "Lana Del Rey-producer Emile Haynie" tbh

Okay I kiiiinda disagree. The live Charli chorus was way too, like, bubblegum and happy for the song. So in that respect the bad bitch vibe MØ brought is better. But overall it's not a good chorus for this song anyway so I don't get it? I think no matter the singer it fails on the Fancy formula because it's an underwhelming chorus whereas lbr Charli's part in Fancy went hard

Her voice just really doesn't suit Charli's lazy songwriting so it's been warped to some kind of imitation. She really is there in name only to make Iggy look hip, it could've been anyone. I'm glad she gets a moment at the end and it's not just a chorus. But still very much not worth it.

+ I'm rooting for Emma Roberts how messed up is that With the Ethel + Edward Mordrake scene I feel like they really wanted to recreate Asylum's Shachath moments but it was just too cheesy and like a really ham-fisted way of getting in some backstory
