I notice in the LAX video, that every single person in the airport knew who she was, unlike in older airport videos/photos where it seemed like no one knew.

These days, one doesn't even need a record company, and Lana, witness the 350 songs, most of which are not on records, many of which her supporters know about anyhow and can access.

Great artists paint. (sing, write, live)
People whose lives depend on great artists to put food on their own table sell things to justify their own life but without the artist, all those people are nothing at all.
But the artists work stand regardless

BTW- Lana is probably (shudder to think what the negative nelly's and ned's and Debbie downers would say) going somewhere to do publicity or interview or something for Honeymoon. Or maybe yesterday she
finished the last song and is justifiably going on vacation.
Life is short. Hope she had a safe flight, and does whatever it is she wants to do and only listens to postiives and no negatives.

If one looks at Nina's youtubes and read the comments, one would see Lana covering Nina has increased Nina's totals in an amazing number.
One would think most of Lana's younger fans never heard of Nina and never would have found her videos until Lana did her songs

Which leads Nina to have new younger fans, who will go and purchase Nina's music and keep Nina immortal to a whole new generation (Lana brought me here you see all over the comments)

What could be bigger than getting Nina Simone a new generation of fans, and perhaps, entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.

Same as how many kids looked into who in the world Lou Reed or Leonard Cohen or Walt Whitman or T.S. Eliot are.

as for politics, Lana being so into science is very political.
(being that in the US, most of the Republican party insists that there is no science at all, and all is a lie).   etc.

    Music is an aural experience

To all the haters/unbelievers who said/say she wasn't genuine, this proves more than 10 years ago, indeed, Allen Ginsberg and Leonard Cohen and Phil Ochs were major influences
And that the message of the Reservations was inner peace and harmony.
    Indeed, Brooklyn Baby rings true.

So why do places still today say there is no proof she was May Jailer? The proof always has been there.

One day looking forward for a Grateful Dead like 80 CD/LP box set except much larger

There might not be any single prior to the album release. That way the built up anticipation will lead to only complete downloads and album sales, and with each song counting more, the total number of sales
will increase for that first week chart.

Not to mention, speaking of psychedelia, Sgt. Peppers did not have any singles at all.
And if the album is going to come out suddenly this makes even more sense.
Also, as Lana is not going for singles or radio play, and wants everyone to hear the entire album from cut 1 to the least cut (is it 13?) making people buy the entire package is the way to go for what looks to be
    another concept album.

what's the old cliché?  Good things come to those that wait

Keefus Ciancia, an old pal and session man for T-Bone, and last superbowl time he was the producer of Jeff Bridges Sleep Tapes (music to relax when going to sleep)

    This is really cool.

And a writing credit to T.S. Eliot. (this way the negative nellies won't be able to say she copied it, like the morons who didn't realize she gave credit to Nino Rota for Old Money)

edit to add- by the way, this puts Lana in the circle of the movie directors The Coen Brothers whom Keefus has worked with.
and who are known for some unique movies. Makes it a really good connection imho

    as for the name-
Burnt Norton, if not mistaken, is the name of a residence, in England, much like Skyfall was the boyhood residence of James Bond (which one doesn't find out til the end of the most recent movie).

Eliot is very stream of conscious (much like Lana).

Lana should do the Spoken audio book of this and that would be an easy way to get a Grammy award for BEST SPOKEN WORD as James Franco was nominated last year for
    his latest book Actors Anonymous

(and award like that is somewhat like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck winning their's for something other than acting.

James Franco is in many ways the male Lana Del Rey (as he says without the voice).

Read his book from a few years ago, of short stories- Palo Alto and then you can clearly picture what this book is.
I just recently read it, and damn if Lana's music (the songs from prior to when he wrote it) seemed to have been running in the background.

And the characters in the stories, while fictional I could easily picture both James and Lana  portraying ones in many of the stories

While it is fictional, it is so vivid and real, it jumps to real life.

He could just have easily named the characters after people named in Lana songs

Really surprisingly great writer. (along with actor).

I have said in earlier posts, one day I believe Lana will get an Oscar from collaborating with James possibly in a writer/producer/director role.
    perhaps for a short

But all you guys should read Palo Alto and then come back and comment again on this.
James and Lana are somewhat independent invisible muses co-opting the same intellectual space of creativity.
I can picture Franco's fictional book on Lana right now. Looking forward to reading it. Hope he does some book talks/signings when it comes out as he has for his others.

  25. delreyfreak liked a post in a topic by graham4anything in SONG PREMIERE: "Honeymoon"
It's interesting- the media had about 500 articles on Honeymoon after it was released. 499 were positive.
One poster mentioned the one that was negative (and women in general are always put down in that publication, especially liberal women) and after vaguely admonishing that one bad
review, ran with the line in it about lyrics.

It's the old find something to be negative about and be negative about it the one in 500 times.

Instead of saying, wow, the press has been positive 499 out of 500 times

The constant is Lana. The song is instantly Lana. Which is what makes Lana Lana and not one of the 500 other artists one could be listening to but I don't want to,
but instead I listen to Lana because it is Lana.  (and I bet we hear 20 variations of Honeymoon by other artists in the next six months, by then Lana will be working on her next album, always one step ahead of the pack (as a unique talent always does.)
