I think y'all are reading WAY too much into this whole witch thing. I doubt she'd go full on witch style. But that's just my two cents. -

LDR5 Pre-Pre-Release Thread - Take 2
velveteen replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
I just saw that somewhere special and wanted to post it in case it's actually true haha it's probably not though, hence the question mark -

Sorry, I think you must have missed my point. Also, keep in mind that I might not be able to express myself flawlessly as English is not my mother tongue, but I'll try to explain anyway. Of course people dying is the worst thing that could possibly happen, there's no doubt about that. Germany and all the other countries that have been affected by terrorist attacks have had a really hard time and I think there's almost no one who hasn't been affected by this or hasn't felt deep grieve. Our beliefs and lifestyle have been attacked by an extremist group who doesn't only hurt our western beliefs and culture, but also their very own people. Refugees who come to Germany have been through a lot. Do you even know how much harassment by right-winged parties they have gone through besides the trauma they already had? Most teenagers and kids who came here lost their families. In big and international cities like Berlin it's mostly alright in terms of accepting refugees, but in small towns like my hometown in the north, people burned down refugee centers and right-winged parties have demonstrated with torches. Sadly, some people who claim to be refugees aren't and do things that damage the image of the people who actually need help and want to integrate. I fully agree with you that the asylum procedure is flawed, I never claimed that it wasn't. There should have been more thorough controls before letting in so many people all at once. This didn't only allow extremist to enter but also created huge problems because authorities simple didn't know how many people exactly needed help. This isn't about hurt feelings. It's about innocent people who truly need help and want to start over here have bigger problems integrating because a small group of people intentionally do crimes and they get blamed as the culprits. You can't deny that they have a very very hard time here, trying to carry on after all that happened and having to deal with so much prejudice. And again, I didn't mean to downplay the horrors of what has happened. I simply tried to state that sadly not only innocent people had to give their lives away, but also that a group of people who didn't have anything to do this will have an even harder time now. Refugees ≠ Terrorists. And sorry to say it like that, but if there was anything you didn't agree with in my initial post, you could have tried to phrase it a tad bit more friendly. There's no need to be passive-agressive and try to pick a fight. I don't like it when my words get twisted. (I haven't slept much lately, so excuse my English :dead:)

Though I agree with you that some things have to be optimized and changed in our politics, you can't simply put the blame on one person. It's not like our Frau Merkel can decide things over the head of the german population. She's simply the representative of our country. Decisions are made by a number of people in the Bundestag.

I'm so shocked. As some of you may know, I live in Berlin and some good friends of mine (and actually me too) where at that specific place just a bit before the attack happened. It's absolutely terrifying. What is happening in this world? 9 innocent people died, even more got injured. But do you know what'll be just as bad as this? The refugees are gonna be blamed for it, once again. My school has refugee classes where I have volunteered a few times before, and it breaks my heart that these innocent people who already had to go through this much terror are gonna be portrayed as the culprits.

It'd be really cool if the sidebar would be fixed, for instance making it possible to post soundcloud links/yt videos without messing up the whole side. Thanks for all the changes already made, I'm sure everyone really appreciates them, me included
