    Of course I was working when everything originally happened yesterday.

     

    That said I have sat with the songs for a while now and I can say they are truly something very special.

     

    I do agree it is a heavier piece of work to digest and I can see how it isn't some's cup of tea but I find it so raw and refreshing.

     

    It's def not playing things safe or vanilla, very progressive and still on brand.

     

    Out of the new songs not previously leaked/released I would say my faves are If You Lie Down With Me, Beautiful, and Black Bathing Suit. Sweet Carolina is also just so beautiful and intimate as well, love it. Really the only song that didn't hit me as hard is Violets. 

     

    Either way another amazing album, classic yet again, nobody does it like her. Her contemporaries really cannot compete.

    I agree they are not pop and always thought it was crazy. Am I losing it or wasn’t there some recent info stating she had submitted under alternative but the noms were all transferred to pop? That info could be false too though. Regardless the Grammys are so political now. Lana is it not one to play the game so I really don’t see much changing for her Grammy wise. I agree w you in that COCC probably will be snubbed for noms. We will see I guess.

    Lana’s albums have always been in pop categories. It is unfortunate because they really would do better in alternative. They are not traditional pop. In saying that though it was recently revealed a while back that her team has been submitting her under the alternative category but the Grammy’s change them to the pop categories. Not sure how or why or if it is true but it was something that was discussed sometime ago. At the end of the day the Grammys have truly become a popularity contest. While I do think Lana still wants a Grammy I think she is really disillusioned after NFR and probably has a more fuck it attitude about it. Idk I don’t see COCC really getting any noms with it being a less saturated release. If it does that would be amazing but we already know it will be snubbed win wise. I hate to be cynical but the odds and politics are just not in her favor.

    I think when she says Chicken she is referring to Chuck, we know that is Chuck's nickname. I have always kind of wondered if maybe Chucks nickname is chicken bc Charlie is called Chucky or whatever too if that makes sense lol.

    These were my thoughts as well lol. Him being a producer though who knows. I was thinking could just be riding coat tails for an extra 15 mins but it may very well be true. Either way, yesssss, being salty and extra to siblings exes is normal lol. Well to an extent!

    Lol no harm. It was “new” news lol. I just need them to drop the vinyl lol. They are taking forever lol. Totally agree they should have been dropped together.

    It’s the same with Target here in the US too! The cd is up for pre order but no vinyl. I thought they would have the vinyl with that cover lol. I’ll continue to wait patiently I guess!

    Late to the party but Arcadia is so beautiful. She really has crafted something very special here. Song and album both! Modern classic incoming. She keeps delivering, nobody does it like her. I just love how honest, personal, and real this record and it's release is shaping up to be.

     

    Does anyone else also find it interesting that the majority of the promo and images shared from her is the alt cover? I think that one is super special to her. Love finding out little things like that. 

     

    Thankfully snagged it and the standard/white vinyl. Target needs to get with it and drop their pre order asap!
