The problem with Ride is that she went for the 'I'm mentally ill, so different from others and a special snowflake because of it' theme. Basically the age old story of a young adult who can't get bearings on this world and reads Kerouac and goes on the road looking for the meaning of life. It's been done time and again, so in my eyes the video and song lack in originality. Plus, the video is the most hipster thing Lana has ever done, not to mention that awful cultural appropriation So glad that we have a good song like MTWBT in our hands tho with a hopefully good video coming too
