Do Americans really go to a concert dressed in a t-shirt, shorts and sneakers?

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

I think what she ought to focus her attention to with her next album is the lyrics. I mean how long can she keep singing about her boyfriends, her teenage shenanigans and how she wants to be free... I have enough faith in Lana that she can widen her horizons -

Those photos of her taking her pants off are the epitome of creepiness Also, it's so refreshing to see a female celeb whose body isn't pitch perfect -

I was listening to Freak and I started wondering if it's maybe about Barrie. The 'come to California, be a freak like me too' and 'screw your anonymity' reminds me of Barrie moving to LA for Lana. And I'm sure they danced along to rock music and waxed poetic til they turned blue and whatnot Also 'you're cold as ice but when you're nice, you're so amazing in every way' probably references Barrie's depression Also I realised the 'I'm rising up' line probably references 'Jim raised me up' from Ultraviolence -
Omg I love Dalida These are my favourite songs by her https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8lNXens1Zc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ifJapuqYiU There's a documentary on youtube about her called 'Pour toujours' and even tho I don't understand a word of it I love to watch it because she looks so beautiful and serene and the imagery of the doc is super pretty too

Seriously, Lana probably won't agree to do a festival unless she's a headliner -
Lana's gonna perform at the Electric Picnic festival in September in Ireland
-
I'm so happy she's come out of hibernation
-
Ultraviolence is the best song Lana has ever written and recorded tbh
-
She looks beautiful and all but when will those godawful bangs grow out
-
Swan Song is one of the greatest tracks from Honeymoon tbh. The only annoying thing is how she pronounces 'tennis shoes' as 'ten issues' at the end of the song

@@graham4anything Ok, you're comparing Lana and Bowie solely based on their career choices and successes, I'll give you that, there are similarities to an extent. Sorry, I don't want to turn this thread into a discussion on Bowie but I just have to tell you that you are very wrong about Bowie not being down to earth and considering himself above others. I've been a die hard Bowie fan for years and I have read everything that is out there about him and very rarely have I come across anyone saying that he was an asshole to his fans. The only time he may have been rude was when people started prying too much into his private life. Maybe you personally had a bad experience with him but that doesn't mean that he really was like that all the time. There have been so many accounts from people after his death and pretty much everyone has said what a kind, considerate and down to earth person he was. Even if he chose not to spend 50 minutes signing autographs to his fans it doesn't mean that he automatically considered himself above his fans.

Sorry but Bowie and Lana are two completely different artists. Both are good artists but they have little in common. Besides, how many times has Lana stated that 'Lana Del Rey' is not a persona? And how is Bowie's death in any way relevant in your comparison if Lana is still alive? If you really believe that Bowie is the closest equivalent to Lana's career then it would be more useful to go deeper into the analysis than just scratch the surface here Otherwise, I like your analysis of the album, it certainly makes it more interesting but imho the album still lacks the drive and soul that Lana's previous albums had. It may be more coherent and may have a well thought out concept but Lana's strength lies in her emotionality and the intuitive quality of her music, and that is sadly what Honeymoon is lacking of

I think she said she was inspired by Cocaine Cowboys for that song

From my own perspective I'd say that one of the downsides of Lana is that she has stuck to the same aesthetic since forever. Flowers, vintage glamour, sadcore, pretty much the same lyrics. I hope that on her next album she manages to bring something fresh to the table but still add her own twist to it. I cringe whenever I see someone say that they want BTD 2.0 because she really ought to move on from that if she wants to retain her artistic integrity

Freak Music Video Premiering February 9th

I wish the footage and the music fit together better. The unnecessarily long shot of her feet was especially out of sync with the music. Also I wish the 5 minute Debussy part had some other scenes incorporated into it, like the girls dancing or Lana & FJM together in heaven. All in all, the footage in the video had a lot of potential but it was just messily put together I really love the scenes inside the house though, wish we could have got more of it. The scene with Lana & FJM dancing was beautiful too and I love the silence before Debussy starts playing -

Can't wait for the video. Just hope it won't be a pretentious mess like Ride -
