It's about the book Lolita, and it's about the part in the book where the screenwriter Lolita looked up to and admired picked her up from the hospital and tried to get her into child porn, when she refused he kicks her out.

This little girl theme indeed gets the song asociated with Lolita but sorry, I don't think it's about her herself. Yeah, she was quite smart and knew she could use her body to get what she wanted. Nevertheless, IMHO the song is about a girl who is ready to have sex with the director so that she gets starred in a movie. Just you know, kind of exchange. Lolita did not mean it with Q., she was just in love (she admitted that he was the only man she had ever loved when Humbert found her living with her husband) and naively she took him for someone he wasn't. She wanted to get away from her pervert "daddy" and be with Quilty, nothing about gaining a part in any movie.

And the wind I know it’s cold

Now that that thought came through my mind... Is it possible Lizzy was in some way influenced by the infamous case of Roman Polanski? After all, AKA was recorded in roughly 2008, I believe, and that was also the period when Polanski's issue was refreshed.

I AM ALWAYS THINKING ABOUT POLANSKI WHEN I HEAR THIS SONG LMAO probably because i am a big fan of his work lol

This song… lowkey makes me cry, when “lights, camera, accion” is mentioned in HBTB I cried too, but this time tears of joy. I’m just glad she finally knows her worth, but I feel like she knows her worth more in BB. It’s a bad b word album!

Does somebody still have the live video of Jimmy Gnecco performing a song that had this same guitar riff? Video was from 2007/2008 and quite LQ and red. Someone posted it here before

put me in a movie is actually a pretty sad & complex song & it’s unfortunate how it’s usually interpreted by majority of the fandom

people just don’t know how to interpret songs about dark subjects/can’t handle it, i don’t believe the song is problematic, it sounds like a bop, however the lyrics are sad, & the production of the instrumentals & vocals highlight how dark & unsettling it actually is

I've felt this way for years. The acoustic demo especially is so heartbreaking to listen to sometimes :trisha:

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but there is an Elvis Presley song called Hey Little Girl and the lyrics have a certain resemblance to this song

Elvis song:

Hey little girl, you sure are cute to me
Come up a little closer, so I can see
Hold it baby now stay right where you are
Hey little girl you oughta be a movie star
Alright...

Hey little girl, come on and dance with me
You're about the cutest thing I ever did see
Hey little girl, I'd like to take you home
Come on, come on, come on I want you for my very own
Alright now

I haven't seen anyone talk about this, I wouldn't be surprised if this song influenced and inspired LAna, since Lana was always a huge Elvis fan
