DCooper 36,699 Posted August 25, 2023 I've only known of Christine and the Queens from a couple Charli XCX features but they're playing at my favourite venue in October so I spontaneously bought a ticket a couple weeks ago. Last night I finally gave Paranoia, Angels, True Love a listen and OMG what a fucking album!! I was honestly floored, I listened to the whole thing on my balcony during a thunderstorm and it was a RIDE. I am so excited to listen more and now I can't wait for the show

bluechemtrails 26,438 Posted August 25, 2023 I like the French version of "Doesn't matter" (voleur de soleil)
Embach 40,298 Posted August 25, 2023 I remember discovering him in 2014 while watching a French music channel on TV. I was hypnotized the same way as when I discovered Lana. 'Christine' was the first song I heard from him. It's so timeless and mesmerizing. The French version is superior to the English one, I don't even really like 'Tilted'. 'Chaleur Humaine' is one of the best albums ever released. I haven't really kept track of his latest songs but I once saw Tears Can Be So Soft on TV and I really loved it. Reminded me of old-school alt music.
SalvaWHORE 33,932 Posted October 23 so now are we calling him Chris / Christine or Redcar? he changed his stage name but most of the works are still credited as Christine and the queens tho. 0 Quote @WHORE OF TROPICO ⇨ @SALVAWHORE

I believe he would prefer Redcar, and I’ve heard he’s gone through some difficulty regarding old name/new name stuff so it wouldn’t surprise me if the label previous records are out on has been giving him a hard time about changing the name of the artist attributed to them. Anohni’s back catalogue kinda went through a similar thing, though now you can find her stuff under both Antony and the Johnson AND anohni. this is all just assumption based on the stuff I’ve seen/read, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was correct, sadly

barttttender 4,827 Posted October 24 His/theirs first two albums were insanely good, especially the first one. (Not sure about the pronouns). La vita nouva was pretty dope too. Redcar and everything 2022 onwards is... not for me.
