evilentity 13,348 Posted September 29, 2012 These may sound funny out of context, but in context, they're what makes her live performances of MDM so great. The studio recording could have used more moments like these to be honest. :imbeingsarcasticbitch2: 4 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation. IamThatGirlLily 533 Posted September 29, 2012 This is pure Lana art. Without those high notes slaying your inner ears, it won't be Lana anymore. Can't feel complete without them. And I'm being serious.
alexzdelrey 123 Posted September 29, 2012 the studio kinda falls flat at the "anywhere, anywhere oh" after that it doesn't build anymore which isn't a bad this but i do kinda like it when she does the "Woahwowowow" thing haha

The studio recording could have used more moments like these to be honest. :imbeingsarcasticbitch2: Disagree. In context, these sound still sound funny/horrible. There's a difference between wailing + sounding anguished + how she thunders/shouts "I'M FINE, and I'm ready to go!", and a difference between awful warbling. This particular performance of MDM in particular is just not good, imo. I do agree the studio version should sound more like the live versions. It was one of the greatest disappointments I had when I first listened to the album.

I'm really glad she didn't pinch her voice and do that whine on record. PHEW. 0 Quote "The limits of my language mean the limits of my world." -Wittgenstein
Lana Del Rey 752 Posted September 29, 2012 I laugh to be honest, and the full version of MDM live is my personal best live performance tbh 0 Quote Angel-Headed Hipster
Lana Del Rey 752 Posted September 29, 2012 off topic but am I the only one who tried to sing the live version of Million Dollar Man and sounded like a whale being raped 0 Quote Angel-Headed Hipster

Coney Island King 26,107 Posted September 29, 2012 I do agree the studio version should sound more like the live versions. It was one of the greatest disappointments I had when I first listened to the album. Yeah, i think the last chorus in the studio verison should have been the way she sings it live, all high pitched and screaming her hair off. I also like the part where she's all "dooooo do da da wehoo wehooo weehoooo" or whatever she does lol in the bridge, that should have been on the album.
Auto-Tuned Loon 650 Posted September 30, 2012 How do you know what a whale being raped sounds like? How do you think Emile Haynie and Rick Nowels got that whale sound effect on "Lucky Ones"? The worst part was that Chloe kept telling the whale, "You need to shut up and just trust Emile. Everything would be better if you just comply." 1 Quote A bad sample, repeated often with unwarranted glee.
Eulonzo 77 Posted September 30, 2012 And that, ladies and gentlemen is a collection of clips that explains why I hate Million Dollar Man live.
