It's fun to come to a thread on Lanaboards that's already mentioned Neubauten and Suicide!

The Triffids - Raining Pleasure - not super obscure in Australia or the UK, but maybe not so well known these days in the broader musical world. I feel like the sound influenced a lot of late 80s/early 90s indie pop as well

i just really love this. it's kinda like nature in an audio file. very grounding and unique<3. it also helps me with my mental health somehow. i discovered RAAI a while ago and it wasn't even on purpose
