2024 US Presidential Election - Kamala Harris/Tim Walz vs. Donald Trump/JD Vance

I’m in Pittsburgh and I’d go to Kamala rally if I wasn’t working. This is the most anxiety ridden election ever. My bestie is so sure Kamala is gonna win. My boyfriend is a major downer and is certain Trump is gonna win. Here I am sitting in the middle thinking it’s a 50/50 toss up. I’m sick.

How even is that? I seen something like that before about how like a cetain state might take 10 days.

I thought it only took like 6-12 hours.

Is it some rural state maybe only have little towns of 40 people and stuff, like those horror movie places people get stuck driving through then they need security and everything to deliver all the votes to places which all needs overseen and made sure nothing sneaky happens.

There’s been an increase over the past few elections with mail in/absentee ballots and I believe this year has been the highest. It takes time to process mail in and provisional ballots unfortunately since they have to verify them and are accepted up to Election Day. Also each state has their own rules when they start processing them. It’s annoying though wish we knew the results by the end of the night

A couple swing states including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin don’t start counting mail ins until morning of Election Day. Some states allow provisional ballots days after election. But most states accept and start processing mail ins days if not weeks before.

I cannot imagine Trump winning, he already did the job before and didn't really do anything worth supporting and lost the last time, he's much older now, I don't think he is seen as being as funny or "likeable" as he was the first time he won.

Then Kamala I don't see her being less popular than Biden, can only think surely people would vote for her more than him.

If Biden beat him I feel Trump would only have got less popular and Kamala can only be more popular than Biden but im not American and don't know anybody who's voting or nothing.

Biden won by 40,000 votes. Trump won by 60,000 votes in 2016. Tomorrow’s margins will most likely be equally razor thin, and a prediction hard to make with certainty.

from an outside perspective… i feel like i’m seeing a lot more people being confidently republican on places like tiktok, like people such as bryce hall could’ve never openly supported trump in 2020 lmao, my guess is ppl were just less open on spaces like tiktok about their true policial beliefs back in 2020 if it was supporting trump/ being conservative. like why am i seeing vids “just a girl who voted for the felon!” ???

same in the uk, so many people confidently were supporting right wing ideologies this year it’s scary

Just found out Ohio has a rule where every county is only allowed one early voting place. 
 

Some counties are having lines several hours long, and if you’re in line while the center closes, you have to come back the next day 🫠 ridiculous

This is true about Ohio. I live in Columbus and our county has only one place to early vote. With a population of 1.3 million that makes things kind of a mess. I spent an hour in backed up traffic yesterday just to turn onto the road our board of elections is located on. Outside was a sea of people. I didn’t even end up going in, it was a blocked up mess to turn into the parking lot. I plan on getting up early and going to my local polling station which is just 3 blocks from me and stick it out as long as it takes.

i'm actually more worried about chaos in regards to harris winning, i feel like trump supporters are more likely to be more enraged, unhinged, and possibly violent, but obviously, i still want her to win ofc
