Im starting to think Girl So Confusing is a “version” because THERES THREE, and the first one is Lorde. Of course the song is majorly inspired by this specific topic with her, but it’s a song that also speaks to every girl she has some misunderstanding in the industry. If she does two more versions with two other women she has been in “bad terms”, each one talking about their confusing relationship, it’s gonna be SO ICONIC AND HEALING

No I'm still here.

I understand the whole moment is cute/powerful/groundbreaking etc. w/e but it's not something *I* can bop to at a party or belt with emotion at karaoke because it's not a track I can relate to on any level.

Therefore, and with no ill will or prejudice to the lovers of the track, I will be skipping.

Also I was listening to apple thinking it sounded like "airport" but I thought I must've been wrong because I often mis-hear lyrics but no she is saying airport so now I feel better

I’m not feeling the “there are multiple versions of Girl, so confusing with multiple female artists” theory. That would kinda make the Lorde version less special and run the whole concept of it into the ground. A big part of what makes this so monumental is because it’s Lorde, and the layers behind that. If she did this with Rina or whoever it would be such a non-event. I still see people throwing Marina’s name around (give it up) but their whole beef was never that deep and there’s really no depth to their dynamic. Their beef literally started and ended with Marina sending her fans after her for doing a similar photoshoot as her almost a decade ago, and present day they’re not friends. There’s really nothing more to it. It would not match the concept of the song.
