Can u explain how this relates to Taylor? I’m an active Taylor hater and the only thing I know is that she released a boring double album today with lyrics talking about drama no one cares about

Back in the day we would be looking forward to a major unique vocal performance or even an unreleased song being performed and now we get hyped over mediocre vocals and billionaires singing with her on stage and outshining her. It’s been a ride for sure.

the only good thing about it being an arena tour is that it won't be like a fucking bloodbath to get tickets. every time she comes to NYC its immediate sell out and it sells for like 6x the price on stubhub. at least it wont be scalper prices !!!

the 'rip grimes you could have loved grimes' shit is so annoying. this woman has always been weird and has always been saying questionable shit  it's incredible the way people ate up that anti-imperialist twitter bio. that's exactly why i ain't ever surprised by her antics

Yesterday, I made a little "discovery", while reading some of her old interviews from magazines. I wanted to post and ask about that yesterday but LanaBoards was unfortunately down.
Anyway, this is from Nylon Magazine's November 2013 issue, where there was an interview about Lana where she was talking about her Born To Die/Paradise eras, tour experiences, Tropico movie, recording her next album (what today we know as Ultraviolence), friend Jamie King and also her relationship with Barrie. In that Barrie part, there was also this description:
"The couple have been recording some '70s-style rock with producer Jonathan Wilson in Silver Lake for fun, but Del Rey characterizes her next release as a work-in-progress, done on her own terms and timetable."

The "next release as a work-in-progress..." part is obviously about Ultraviolence, but how did people not notice that information about that Barrie "70s-style rock" thing! As we can remember, in December 2023, Barrie said in a livestream that he had recorded a whole album with Lana but I didn't know that they were working with Jonathan Wilson then. Lana later linked up with Jonathan in 2016 and what's more interesting, is that Lana-Barrie-Jonathan were recording that album (presumably - album) in Silver Lake! In know that's a place in California but as we all know, Lana has an unreleased song from Lust For Life era called "Silverlake". I wonder what songs Jonathan Wilson did produce for them, the only song he has with Lana is "Living With Myself" but she's only singing background vocals there. I don't think he produced Unidentified Flying Bill because it was recorded in a different studio - NightBird Studios - which does not locate in Silver Lake. I need to know people's thoughts. @lanaismamom Did you know about this earlier or did everybody know this and I am just late to the club ? Anyway, I'm still very intrigued about this album...

Has anyone been able to find Brat production credits anywhere? Ik sometimes they go up pre-release... Out of the yet-to-be-released tracks, all we know so far is that El Guincho worked on "Everything is romantic" (he's heavily involved in the new Camila record too... some of you may get a kick out of that info) & "Talk talk" is an A. G. + HudMo coprod.

At first I didn't think the song as a whole was about anyone in particular, more of a commentary on the experience of being a "woman in music," but ever since The Face wrote about it being about "the fraught relationship she has with an unnamed female artist," I do wonder... A lot of the lyrics point more to it being about Lorde imo... very reminiscent of her 360_brat story mentioning her from last summer discussing them making plans to make music and never actually going through with it, "people say we're alike," etc... The "you should come to my party / and put your hands up" lyrics feels like a reference to Lorde's lyric about how she's "kinda over getting told to put [her] hands up in the air" from Team as well. I suppose it could be interpreted to be about Marina too, the lyrics somehow feel too direct, like she's saying too much, but still vague at the same time. Incredible song, can't wait to hear the final. (Same goes for "I think about it all the time")

I thought the same thing. I actually turned it off. Not everyone can be a DJ and that's OK. It was fun and most fans loved it.

i just heard the whole set, and it was the longest hour of my life everything was a bunch of remixes and samples without any cohesion, a real disaster.
Charli is an amazing singer and composer, AG a great producer but they don't have skills as DJ's, i was expecting something much better and enjoyable, but i ended up bored waiting for it to end soon.

No and this is why I'm high key in favour of gatekeeping. OB might be but I think she has played into people saying it's her aesthetic.
BTD was hipster and "gangster" Americana, UV was west coast grunge, Honeymoon was floral and dreamy, L4L was futuristic and 60s, NFR was.. whatever that was lol, COCC was southern inspired, BB was not really aesthetic driven imo.. And Lizzy Grant was tropical Hawaiian trailer trash chic. She's always been feminine but is that really enough for it to be such a fixation for some people? I don't think so.
