I've settled for making 4-5 "EP" groupings for things that sound cohesive/go together well, and then throwing everything else into very wide "Unreleased Era 1, Unreleased Era 2" buckets, where Era 1 is basically everything Sucker and before, Era 2 is everything between Sucker and Pop 2, Era 3 is Pop 2 to HIFN, and Era 4 is everything post HIFN.

I tried to do more but my sanity started slipping, and I realized that being obsessive over categorization was killing my want to just enjoy the music.

I'm not actually accusing anyone of anything I'm just stirring the pot but also like, what IS up with all of us looking at those songs with disdain AND they also happen to feature two people from a select slice of the queer umbrella like hmmmmm.......

I don't mind it but it's so underwhelming. I didn't enjoy Crash that much either, I apreciate it for what it is, but I'd prefered a more experimental album instead, but after that we got banger after banger. Hot in It to end off the Crash era, then Hot Girl to welcome back the return of her distinctive sound and then WTMI Remix, Speed Drive, Barbie Girl and Spring Breakers. She then kills that momentum with a boring song with lackluster production. I'm at peace with it now, but it was a definite downgrade. And I guess people dislike Sam's high pitch and their association with "mom music" on top of that.

Sam was the last thing wrong with the song if you asked me...
