Beloved, nobody (and I know this is aimed at me) thinks that the life circumstances of native Americans are less worth than a new Lana album or information about it.

 

But we have to admit that homegirl has been extremly silent regarding anything political (she hasn't said a word about the election or police brutality, or anything really), so it kinda hits you by surprise that she is pointing out this.

 

I get that this a way bigger topic than a new LDR album or information about it, but it was lighthearted joke towards her.

And she did post about voting because it was extremely important to do so this time around. And she posted a somewhat socially/political selfie.. lol. Just because she doesn't upright talk about the aftermath doesn't mean she doesn't completely care. Just wait because April is around the corner.

honestly i'm quite sensitive about it since so much of the media from the beginning has painted her as brainless, out of touch, spoiled, etc. and i feel a lot of that is steeped in misogyny (speculation, but that's how i feel about it anyway). so when she posts something like this, i just really "appreciate" it i guess lol? i'm glad she still shows us her mind despite being lambasted for her views in the past.

I always went back and forth with wanting or not wanting her to say something political. With most popstars, it ends up really bad. Most recent examples of this were Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. While I appreciate their opinion, it just doesn't work how it was executed.

 

However with this Instagram post she showed us that this was an important topic for her (as it should be, I am not really informed about this topic) and I respect that.

 

The album information better come soon, though

Oh my god, I had no idea?! Obviously... it was just an example I was trying to give. She's honestly never made us wait that long and she always starts (writing) on the new record before she even puts out the second one. We'll get it soon..... was my point. She's not like other artists who wait to put something out...

Smh cuz Katy just digs her hole bigger and bigger every time. I feel like they should be vocal but to a point.

I think this post confirms what we were discussing earlier in terms of her political affiliation. I'm guessing this is another hint that she's more of a Democrat than a Republican. After all, Trump was all for the pipeline being built, while the Obama administration just made the opposite decision. This post is a pretty clear indication that she sides with the Democrats on most issues.

 

This also reminds me of the "love casinos, Indian reservations" line from AKA, as well as her claims that she used to work amongst Native Americans in rehabilitation and whatnot. Good to see she's still passionate about defending the rights of the indigenous.
