Honestly I don't understand why she can't just put out an mv for every song, Crybaby worked so much better than K-12. The whole process of filming just seems like such a waste of time and money, and I don't think the movie's going to be worth selling the house(If that's why she's selling it.)

Seriously hoping she puts the movie format aside for any future albums. We got 9 videos in a YEAR for Cry Baby, and look how successful that was.

 

Everyone says K-12 was just a film-length music video, but several songs got screwed over by not having their own MV with their own aesthetics. Take Recess for example, it's just put into the background while the film goes on. She could have done better, and technically she already did. Just think of what that K-12 budget could have achieved.

I have a bad feeling about MM3, I feel like her recent behavior with the NFTs and the jewelry selling is going to make it much harder to take songs with messages similar to Show and Tell seriously, and there will probably be songs like that on the album.

MTE. K-12 failed as a narrative because it felt like every story beat just revolved around the songs (which definitely do not tell a coherent story) but at the same time the visuals for a lot of the songs were weak too cuz it was too focused on being a "movie"  sigh..

tbh she should just release a mixtape of a bunch of leaks so she can A) get her coins from leaks and B) hold us over with a high quality/lossless release while we wait an eternity or the album

It doesn't seem like she cares to have them in her professional discography. She may change her mind in the future but she'd probably have to leave Atlantic Records to release it anyway, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

 

I would like to hear her talk more about why certain songs never got released, but again, probably not happening any time soon. She's very quiet these days and hardly ever interviews. Hope that changes with MM3.

Agreed. She was over-ambitious jumping straight into filmmaking without knowing what she was doing or polishing her skills. She couldn't even make a $6M budget work for her first film, and that's just not right.

 

She dreams of being a filmmaker, but at what cost to her career when they take years to produce, require millions of dollars, and put her in debt to her label? She needs to be more realistic.

A few days late on this but the Dollhouse EP is officially 8 years old. Wonder where she'll be in another 8 years.

with Melanie creating an account on tiktok and then teasing The Bakery there (which is a veeery commercial song with generic melody) speaks a lot about this but wonder why they didn't jump on the Playdate hit(besides Melanie's decision, i mean, they could force her? what else do they wantt) neither Pacify Her... they're holding her back cuz of the budget they gave for K-12 for sure
