Greetings!  I haven't posted here in ages.  I have listened to "Lust for Life" and I like most of the songs.

 

I wondered if anyone else caught some of the references to other songs in hers.  For example:

 

"Love" -- she says "Don't Worry Baby" several times, perhaps a reference to the Beach Boys song of that name?

"Cherry" -- several occurrences of "Rosemary and Thyme," possibly a nod to Simon and Garfunkel "Scarborough Fair" (the words "Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme")

"Coachella" -- the words "Stairway to Heaven" come up during the chorus; possibly an homage to Led Zeppelin?

"Tomorrow Never Comes" -- this one has a couple.  I heard "Tiny Dancer" a few times (Elton John song), as well as what sounded like "Lay Lady Lay" (Bob Dylan)

 

Any others?

Best American Record had "Houses of the Holy" again by Led Zeppelin but we all know what happened to it

 

Speaking of outtakes, I think Yosemite had a reference to another Elton John song (Candle in the Wind)

Oh and Heroin maybe has a "Fly Me to the Moon" reference

Lol what did you do? If I recall correctly, Elle said that it's not really 3 as some people think, you're banned if you do a very bad thing or if you're a constant problem for the site.

 

On a side and on topic note, listening to GL while thinking about your crush is amazing ugh

The backup vocals for Get Free still have me shook one month after the release, it's honestly so good   I remember being just a bit underwhelmed when the album came out but still it didn't stop me from listening to it everyday

I love how Get Free has that distinct beach sound, sorta reminds me still of 60's girl group. I like how upbeat yet soft it is. Those backing vocals yessss

Let her drink water (or coffee or whatever she prefers) while on stage, turn on a big fan for a few songs to give effect... and she lives in California, it's not like she can't handle the heat. Some fans faint after queuing for 12+ hours, so I think Lana should be very fit for standing on a stage for more than one hour. Like GinFizz said, she's not exactly doing to most advanced dance steps anyways. I think she should be able to stay on stage longer...

I went off topic and it got marked as spamming which i thought was a little drastic but nvm. And same when i listen to GL!! I picture we're at a festival and acting all in love :flutter:  It's the most positive uplifting song on the album for me

yess there's such a peculiar feeling of 60s girls group and her timbre of voice is heavenly <3 and i know some people think it's too loud but that song is perfect, amazing; there are so many elements that it isn't difficult to imagine a music video to it 

 

and i agree about the endurance at live show like other said, i wouldn't mind if she took 5/10 minutes to herself to smoke a cigarette or drink something in the middle of the show tbh (i've never seen her live so i don't know if she does that already) it's cool that lana can be so chill now but i hope that she realises that the other A-listers really take it to their heart to perform well for a waiting crowd because they know, i have a feeling that particular thing is not her priority for now and she's content but maybe that's gonna change? hopefully? 

i don't think i'm going to be able to see her for now, i'm going to be travelling around europe indefinitely i'm not sure i'd be able to catch her and even if i did i'd be too late to get tickets     

 

TNC & BPBP are not exactly my faves but they are so pleasant to listen to honestly, i never skip them
