The art direction for FROOT is so fucking random and so is the album theme I think, there's consistency but it's not good consistency when it's 2 ugly blocks of text on top of a picture, there's so much ugliness going on so yes I agree

Why are all of the single covers awful??

I just don't like the single covers. They're tacky and boring. I don't see any fruit repping, unless it's the bad tasting kind.

The cover for Gold is really similar in color scheme to I'm a Ruin... but they're different FROOTS idk I think she could better execute the FROOT OF THE MONTH thing. Like why are you wearing a blood red leather jacket for your Orange FOTM Marina?? Why.
 
Lol and the Forget single cover is probably one of the ugliest cover arts I've ever seen ngl.
 
Marina has weird taste this era. I thought it'd be more consistent with the space / FROOT imagery but I guess not. :/

nobody's arguing. it's just that if you come up a theory, no matter how ridiculous/plausible, you're going to get skeptics. deal with that. freedom of speech works both ways, y'know.  

Not sure if this thread is still about discussing Honeymoon, but I met Emile today after he did a little talk at an Apple Store in Soho about his music and life and process-- he didn't talk much about Lana, but he talked about how when they work sometimes he'd play her a little chord or something he really liked and she would say "That fucking sucks" in her giggly Lana way, but he said that it really pushes him and how they work and argue all the time and it's what makes the music really great. When I met him after I asked him to sign my vinyl & my friend and I asked if he was working on Honeymoon and he said yes! Not sure if that means currently working on or worked on-- so don't make the statement more than what it is.

I hear "got your gun, I've got my dare" as if she's egging him on to shoot her or something?? Idk. The verse makes me think they're in midst of a bad argument, he grabs his gun and she's daring him to do something with it.

I don't really understand the whole Grimes fans complaining about her making pop music. Claire has always been vocally supportive of pop music and a big reason her music was so electronic was because she didn't have the means to make pop music. If you listen to her progression as an artist you can hear as her production and writing skills got better her music became more and more pop sounding, hence why Visions sounds way more pop than Halfaxa. As much as I throughly enjoy her work to this point, I am extremely excited after hearing Go, Realiti, and now Entropy. I think Claire is a very talented writer, producer, and overall artist and I'm excited to see what she can bring to the table in terms of pop music and pushing the limits of pop music.
