  1. MDM is Million Dollar Man Also, I agree with you. It's so annoying when people resort to silly acronyms. It comes across as very lazy to me when someone can't even be bothered to type a few simple words properly. And with the amount of songs Lana has, it would take forever to go and find which song is being discussed.
  2. It's definitely Lana, I used to have the chorus backing vocals as a stem. I'm sure someone else around here has the file to send you.
  3. She looks so good blonde omg I'm so happy
  4. Hi there! Just want to point out that I'm replying via my new account (the user you just quoted is my old account which I can no longer access). Sorry, I didn't mean that to come across as if I was offended. I'm not super religious at all (in fact, I wouldn't even call myself a 100% practicing Christian anymore). I'd read a theory about this song being about Lana having a relationship with a priest, which I did find a bit off-putting, especially since I'd always considered this song to just be another one of her songs about a "bad boy". I know this kind of thing happens a lot, and there is a lot of abuse within the Church, which is rather upsetting (child abuse, priests having relationships, homophobia, etc). Looking back at it though, I don't think it's about a relationship with a priest. As you stated, "preacher" probably relates more to a religious person, or a person "preaching" a certain belief, rather than "preacher" explicitly equalling a priest. Lana's lyrics are always somewhat ambiguous, which leads people to make really strange interpretations sometimes. It does certainly make for an interesting dialogue though!
  5. That would be true, but recent news has it Lizzy is back with revenge taking over Lana's career this time.... cheeky Lizzy "LIZZY GRANT IS BACK, BITCHES! GET READY TO HAVE YOUR WEAVES SNATCHED WITH LIZZY GRANT AKA LANA DEL RAY 2.0" What's the difference between a turtle and a tortoise???
  6. omfg my internet goes down for a few days and I come back to see this I am actually in love with this hair so much (although tbh, I have loved every hairstyle Lana has had so no surprise there). Hopefully this new hairstyle is a sign of new, fresh things to come in terms of her music.
  7. If she was there with a friend, she probably didn't want to annoy them by making them wait around while she talks to fans, takes pictures and so on. I'm guessing that's why she was probably not spending as much time with you guys. Or she was just in a rush to go somewhere afterwards. Plus, it sounds like there was some pressure from her management to not take photos with fans. Who knows? At least she acknowledged you at all and talked to you for a little, some celebrities just completely ignore their fans. All in all, great you got to meet her, and I think for a lot of people meeting their fave is a bit short-lived. (Probably because we all want to spend another hour with them lol)

Hotter Than Hell > New Love > Be The One > Last Dance. Curious to see everyone else's ordering tbh
  10. Apart from DLMBM, I think those two are my least faves too, although I do see the appeal of them and like them better than some of her other songs from other albums. Just compared to all the other amazing tracks on HM they're kind of lacklustre for me anyway.
  11. Honestly I don't see LDR5 coming out this year either. I don't think Lana's the type of person to rush her music. Everything she releases is meticulously crafted and put together, I doubt she'd release her next album if it weren't perfect. Especially considering that her next album could very well be a make or break for her career. If she makes another Honeymoon type album, I think her sale numbers are going to drop even more. Hopefully she makes something with a bit more energy next time around. Don't get me wrong, HM is fantastic but I'd really like to see a bit more energy after such a slow-paced album. Not necessarily pop Lana or BTD Lana but just something with a bit more fire.
  12. Honestly, I didn't listen very far into that speech before, but this comment of yours made me want to go back and listen properly, and I actually found a heap of quotes he says that links back to the Lana universe. Some of these might be reaching for the stars and have no connection, but just thought I'd share regardless. Here are some of the things he said and how I relate it back to Lana/UV. "Secretly inside I just wanted to be liked. I mean, it doesn't manifest like that, I might hit you, but I really just want to be liked." (That sounds so similar to "he hit me and it felt like a kiss". Wonder if Lana caught the bad side of this Jim?) "and next thing I know we're off to the races!" (clearly this is a pretty Lana thing to say, maybe she got it off him, or vice versa?) He's also talking about Budweiser beers as well. I've always wondered why Lana wears that Budweiser beer shirt, and had a parodied shirt of it in the Ride video too. I doubt she drinks beer herself. He also talked about being involved in an armed robbery? Wonder if this perhaps somehow relates to Tropico, and the boyfriend of Lana's that also was involved in armed robbery in the short film? And he also talks about stealing and crashing a car... This is What Makes us Girls teas anyone? "I got down on my knees and said a prayer to a God I don't believe in" (Reminds me of "When I'm down on my knees, you're how I pray", pretty sure these aren't related but just interesting) "I've got these white tennis shoes on" (Swan Song reference anyone? If you also look at Swan Song it's about wanting to escape a life of work and responsibilities. This guy Jim speaks about his past and how he was caught up in a number of businesses, owing large sums of money, and he was basically broke, but also how he overcame that. This seems to fit in quite well with the "you've got your money now, you've got your legacy... let's leave the world for the one's who change everything." It's also quite strange that they're WHITE tennis shoes and not just any shoes) He also makes a joke near the end about how the group is a "cult" and they're gonna "sacrifice a virgin if they can find one". Although it was a joke, I wonder if they were at all cult-like in their behaviour. Sometimes a joke represents a deeper truth. Probably not got anything to do with sacrifices, but it is possible their group is cult-like. Once again, I'd just like to state that these are all just correlations and could very well be mere coincidences and I could be reaching totally for the stars, but it's just peculiar how many things he says remind me of Lana and how well his story seems to fit into the lyrics of Lana's songs.

I don't think she's saying "asking for forgiveness, unsexy". It sounds like she's either saying "I'm sexy" or "umm... sexy" Go and listen to it, it's really clear it's not an 'n' sound. But then again, none of those options really make sense either. It also could be "asking for forgiveness, on texting"... that doesn't really make much sense either but who knows? I just don't think "unsexy" is the right word, it sounds like something else to me??

Not gonna lie, I love this trashy, upbeat pop Lana too. I would say overall I prefer her more serious, introspective side in most of her official discography but nevertheless I love this style too - it's nice to break up some of her darker material with some fun bops like these. It's a nice contrast and definitely one of the reasons I love Lana so much, she manages to explore so many different perspectives and moods but all brilliantly. I do agree this bop would be a tad better without the rapping, but still amazing regardless in my opinion.

shit I just watched some of her live performances and she's actually so good live. Even with those more difficult belts she totally nails them! Love this girl so much
  16. Something I found interesting from reading that Superstar Machine article is this: I really doubt Lana is "Poppy" or any of the other pseudonymous women, but it could be possible she was involved in this group for some period of time. To me, it also sounds like Princess Superstar's comment is the exact kind of thing Greg would have forced the girls to say to hide the truth of his organization. Another note, there is a "Jim" who appears all over the net linked to the Atlantic Group. Here is a link to a speech he presented. I wonder if there is any correlation between the "Jim" we hear in UV and the "Jim" associated with the Atlantic Group? It would make so much considering Lana has stated before that in UV she is singing about alcohol, and that "Jim" was this figurehead in a group supposedly promoting sobriety. I also found a Bill who was quite prominent on a few sites involved in the Alcoholics Anonymous... could be possible Lana is also referencing him in some of her songs as well? Or just coincidence? I guess we'll never know

Omg I literally am crying about this studio version, it's even more beautiful than the old version Some of Lana's best lyrics here too, wish she would write more songs like this Too bad it cuts off at the end though

This track is FIRE!! I really didn't expect her her outdo "New Love", "Last Dance" and "Be The One", because all three of them are TOTAL BOPS!! but "Hotter Than Hell" is somehow EVEN better. Don't know how every song she puts out is amazing. I can see myself replaying this 100000 times like all her other tracks.
  21. Just because current music has never really influenced her own style and her own music doesn't mean she doesn't like it.
