literally i think about this every time i see you on this thread like it's iconic also honestly i'm very late to this conversation but hearing that Cape God started as a Super Sunset companion kinda makes me wanna pare CG down into a matching 6 song EP (disincluding the intro and interlude from SS because ... yeah) as like a day/night thing- i wonder which songs would've made the cut from that era

these COLORS oh my god... it looks so surreal and stormy!! it almost reminds me of the visuals for Caroline Polachek's Pang era?? like the dull earthy background voids with the striking figure- if the cover was from this shoot i would buy the vinyl in a heartbeat

i would've killed for a double chorus at the end but otherwise this is flawless like wowww this has me hyped

Somebody Like Me is my favorite on first listen (besides The Masterpiece of the Sun) but this was a very pleasant listen tbh. can't wait to soak it all in cuz it defs isn't as immediate as Masseduction was imo (but that's not a bad thing).

can she release venus fly trap so we can quit doing whatever the hell is going on in here and just bop in peace honestly praying for some longer songs... we need 4-5 minute marina songs again- knowing her they're all gonna be 3 something about the title track feels like it could be decently long but that's wishful thinking

honestly i was expecting/hoping for a full rework like man's world's remixes were cuz then it at least would have the opportunity to make pussy riot's verse fit on more. like imagine a cut of PTP with more industrial production and less stiff drum work like the idea was right in front of them... unfortunate that this is such a mess

first of all WOW. sunday/cure next manifestation circle main takeaways: fast cars (huge bop), lifeline (cute chill moment), ohdh demo (unsolved > but this version is so cool), PETALS (how was it not released) definitely am gonna have to redo my "dream album" tracklists for these because honestly all of these are insane

imagine the absolute serve of goals with someone like charli on it. i like for real & rising tide but the others i can see why they were cut. interesting that CG was started before super sunset seemingly tho? wonder how that worked out

honestly i think most of the hate for L+F as a full record is warranted but unfortunate because if she hadn't scrapped the og cover/title then the whole project would be framed differently (and probably would've been more warmly recieved, even if it didn't surpass her first 3 records.) it's strange because the songs ARE there sometimes, they're more in style with the emotional/sad ballads on froot but they ARE there, but then you mash them in with the more watered-down/"commercial" generic songs and it just doesn't land. personally i use this tracklisting and i think it works way better as a record, but that's just me. that being said, she needs to get this era together already like man's world is an excellent return to form & all the snippets sound fantastic but at this rate the record will be out in like october... mess.

honestly i think i was too harsh on this on first leak listen. a lot of the songs i found kind of underwhelming have grown on me considerably (white dress in particular), but i still can't get over the main cover like girl!!! wish spotify would let people swap album covers more detailed thoughts:

not to come in with the Hot take but masseduction (9.5-10, this and the next one switch, the album that got me into her work) marry me (straight up 10, near perfect) st vincent (9-9.5, i don't vibe as much w the bonus tracks but that's fine) actor (8.5ish, a bit too short but otherwise really good) strange mercy (like a 7.5-8? has great songs but i don't vibe with it as much overall) (i haven't heard love this giant) oh also pay your way in pain is so weird but so fun, after being disappointed by the album cover i'm excited to see where this goes

i've been getting into her leaks really late and how Act of God didn't release will haunt me the Moonlight Ed. cover looks fine to me? it's a bit weird (her name's logo really makes it unbalanced & what is that font on The Moonlight Edition) but i think the concept is cute enough also fr if she actually makes a second b-sides album with the actual b-sides people actually want... that's so funny and needless like why even bother releasing the shorter one now? Not My Problem is growing on me & We're Good is alright but they don't compare at all to any of the "main" outtakes people actually want
