The MV is massively Crash film coded which is weird because it would have been perfect for crash title track as a single
It even has the good ones death pose which makes me wonder whether this idea was scrapped from crash as a continuation

The video is very low budget- in fact all her videos seem to be after sucker bar good ones(even that is very medium tier budget)- is the idea of music videos dead.
Potentially- why even have them if there’s no innovative concepts from artists? Surely it takes budget away

The cover isn’t it and von Dutch is polarising

Y2K is 2000s/very late 1999 and used to be that cyber futuristic aesthetic with the metallic/foil like designs before it got reappropriated to mean any 2000s crap

Nope-Von Dutch cover gives ray of light.
brat booklet photos gives me homogenic
this paired with her club clothes at events- I’m confused what the aesthetic is? Maybe it’s not meant to be clear aesthetic direction.

Look, we get it. The intention behind the cover is apparent. It fits the 2000s underground dance CD handout vibe she's going for. The references are understood. It doesn't make the cover any less hideous, and her fans are well within their right to criticise it, especially when contemplating buying the physicals. You lot who love it can have it, and let's hope there really are more variants for the green repulsed.

i promise you all that just because something looks simple to you it doesnt mean work was not put into it and its void of symbolism... i think the cover is very good and just the thing this project needs but im afraid that by explaining myself your 16 year old they/them asses will quote it saying its not that deep

Idc about the cover but I am confused on if there’s going to be an aesthetic direction at all because it’s not giving Y2K skins rave uffie- moreso late 90s natural club chic.

AHAHAHAH I FUKKEN KNEW IT.
When I saw the cover I said to myself "F@gs are gonna lose it because it's going to look ugly as fuck on their walls" and I was RIGHT.
(I myself would like something more majestic as album art, HOWEVER, I've got plenty of albums with lackluster covers that make it up on my displays from time to time, so I'm truly unbothered)
Except the bland minimalism actually does have some vision. She's been on some vibe about "UK Rave bangers techno party rager club" shit, and if you've ever actually gone into a lot of those genres and sub-genres behind it (house, rave, dnb, breakbeat, techno, hardstyle, etc.), those albums and covers - there's shit that's been released that's vinyl only, sometimes it's literally just a blank white label slipcase with a sticker on it. Pulling from my own knowledge/experience - my ex is a DJ and he plays, exclusively, these genres, and specifically a lot of ones that originated and came out of the UK rave and music scene. He also exclusively only spins vinyl when he's performing at clubs, and his collection is filled with plain black records, in simple solid slipcases and covers, with next to no other details on them aside from random stickers or sharpie marks and that's it. That's just how that whole movement rolls.
The minimalism of the cover does actually pay a lil homage to the genres and vibe she's been talking about pulling from, so while it's boring as shit, it DOES fit the bill, as much as everyone is yucking the yum.
