LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
trayertrash replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
This may be a controversial opinion, but I believe The Greatest has a reference towards her feud with Kanye West -
As long as they aren't ripping off her official merch or anyone else's artwork or trying to promote it as official merch it's nbd. If you buy it you're supporting an independent artist who needs the business more than a millionaire.

Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
trayertrash replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
Does anyone have the alternative covers for either Kill Kill or AKA? I recall one of them having alt covers of her playing a guitar and them being on her myspace or something at some point? -

I saw these on reddit and I like them a lot. I'll probably use them for the b-sides/unreleased of this era -

Does anyone know what leaked a few months ago? I know it was from the early days of her career, but I can't find anything besides references towards it leaking.

As the person who created that thread (while more than likely wasted iirc) it was actually a really good conversation that came out of personal trauma and a situation I'd rather not really bring up that wasn't really traumatic, but heartbreaking I guess? That thread helped me get the professional help that I needed thanks to a few messages that came after the thread was deleted There were discussions on consent and power structures that I had never heard before that validated a lot of things for me during a time when I really needed it. So while people who never got a chance to read it may think the idea of that thread was wrong or disgusting or whatever, it was just a really great conversation that changed my life for the better. Also, the thread wasn't about supporting unfair power structures, forced situations, grooming, or anything like that, but rather when does society's "ew" factor take away from consenting adult's choices when they're both fully capable of consent in all aspects of their life. I think that in itself was a very interesting thing to discuss. I think the general thought was "it's gross to me, but if it's fully consensual then let them continue those relationships as long as they don't have children because that could cause a lot of mental and physical issues"

I know he was antisemitic and homophobic towards their manager Brian . He discussed his experiences a few times in The Life Of John Lennon, so that might really be a good place for you to learn more about John's behaviors in depth from people who spent years around him. It's also something that's common knowledge among most Jewish folks I know. Everyone knows someone in their family or community who either went to shows or lived in NY when John was there and all of them agree he said antisemitic stuff and had a really negative attitude towards anyone who was visibly Jewish. First & second hand accounts aren't always the most reliable (not that their stories aren't reliable, but memories and retellings can mess stories up over time) but I've heard too many stories over the years to not believe it you know?

I can't link because my internet is shit rn and nothing wants to load, but it's fairly common knowledge. If I remember correctly, Julian did an interview a few years ago where he talked about the abuse and neglect. It's also been accounted for several times over the years in various biographies where they interviewed people close to John, I'm fairly certain The Lives Of John Lennon discussed incidences throughout several relationships & marriages. I know at one point John discussed it himself and somewhat showed signs of sympathy during the interview, but there were still accounts of abuse against Yoko after the interview.

Y'all, I get what she's saying in the line, but it's still wack lol This! She's so selective with this stuff. Elvis? Abusive, stole music from black artists, married a 14 year old in his mid 20s (which reminds me of Lolita stuff... and... gross, she's a 12 year old incest victim, why does she romanticize that?) Lou Reed? Abusive, sexist, antisemitic, racist, homophobic Axl Rose? Abusive, racist, sexist John Lennon? Child abuse, wife abuser, sexist, antisemitic, homophobic She sure does love protecting certain men's legacies and before anyone's like "but they're some of the greatest artists of all time" - You can be an important figure in music history and still be a piece of shit. "Things were different back then" I mean, in some ways sure, but that's not an excuse for their actions. Other people were well aware abuse and bigotry were wrong, they have every chance to learn too.

I have heard new of a Kanye diss in The Greatest. It seems ridiculous that she would include that. Like... why is she so focused on Kanye's support of Trump? Why isn't she discussing anyone else's support of him? I know they have issues or whatever and Trump is shit, but like, stop lol.

I haven't paid much attention to Lana the past few months & I sure as hell am I not reading the entire thread lol. What's up with the poetry book? Is it going to be released with the album or as a separate project? That song with Ariana and Miley (are those the wrong people? idk?) - was it even real or did it end up being a rumor? Did it ever come out? Were there any songs registered since LFL that aren't on the album? I want to update my list of Lana stuff -

Lana leaving Churchome in Beverly Hills, CA - August 8th, 2019

I always think it's weird that she's allowed to go into church with shorts on because the one I grew up in sent me home once because I wore capris to the Wednesday after school service -
Hey, I followed her earlier and was unable to see her tweets, but now I can see them, so I think it's safe to say that she's safe.
