It's about time to start the LDR 7/8 Pre-Pre-Release thread

Since my original post got "drowned" in yesterday's Kanye craze – these are my impressions after the first listen:

Putting certain people on the ignore list really helps as well.

So, these are my first impressions after having listened to NFR for the first time - in the warm summer evening, on my balcony, the sunset right in front of me, my headphones on and a glas of wine in my hand. The perfect setting for Lana music

Really cool! I have to admit I prefer this version to the original.

The video is really beautiful (and sometimes funny) – not so sure about the two new songs though. They don't really hit me like most of Lana's previous work. "The greatest" is the one I like more.

Her voice reminds me quite a bit of Lana, especially in "He don't love me". The new single and video is awesome!

Yep, two new songs:

So I just secured my ticket for Berlin, yay! I really don't like these big arenas but since it's the only chance to see Lana live in Germany (the one in Cologne is even bigger) I have to bite the bullet. Let's hope she'll drop 80 % of the BTD songs (unlikely) and she stops relying on these background tracks so heavily.

Same here. But I'll resist the urge to listen to the snippets and wait until the entire album is out. I don't want to spoil the transcendental experience of listening to a new Lana album for the first time.

Oh no, I find myself really digging the UO cover. It's kind of silly but the font is cool and the overall tone of the picture is weird and calm at the same time. I think I need to buy this (and I don't even own a record player ).

The trailer is really really cool! And we all thought Lana would be totally lazy this era and wouldn't serve any great visuals. Lana surfing has to be the best thing EVER!

I can't believe this is finally happening! Sooo excited for the new songs. And the cover is, well, different, but it matches Lana's twisted sense of humour. I'm not totally sure if I like the cover but it's definitely better that LFL.

VB is sooo good live! I hope she'll keep this song as a closer for a while so that I can enjoy it too when she's coming back to Germany (sometimes).

Well I'm sorry but actually I'm straight and Lana has been my favourite artist since 2012; I've listened to her more than to every other artist since then, even flew 2000 km to see her live - so I'd consider me a fan. And several of my straight friends really like her as well (though they are not stans like me).

Well, imho Chelsea Hotel No 2 and Goodbye Kiss were (are) awesome as well. The new cover sounds pretty promising, I'm a lil bit hyped for the song now.

Not the biggest fan of this particular song choice but at least Marina added A LOT of the new songs to her setlist – Lana should take note! (And let the BTD stuff finally die.)

The three new songs sound quite promising! And Marina is charming as hell in that video. (as always)

I really adored BTD when it came out (I was already completely hyped for the album in 2011 after having listened to Blue Jeans, DMD and Video Games) and had it on repeat the entire year. The album truly helped me through difficult times back then (my father died in 2012 f.ex.) so I still do like it a lot but if I'm brutally honest with myself I nowadays prefer all of Lana's later albums. But, yes, BTD is of course iconic in many ways and it firmly placed Lana on the musical landscape. I think what's putting me off a bit these days is the kind of "over-production" (that bloody autotuned loon which appears in nearly every song) and that Lana's restricting her vocal range mainly to the lower registers on most of the songs. I'm pretty glad she departed from that BTD-sound on Paradise and on all her other albums which followed after that.

"To be human" really is a awesome track, I can't stop listening to it! It's the best of the new songs and my second favourite (after HH). Overall I'm not too excited of the album though but I'm looking forward to "Fear". Let's see if Marina can switch gears there.

Interesting line-up with Lana, The Cure, The Twilight Sad, Cœur de Pirate and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

I really love "High by The Beach" which was a late addition to the Honeymoon album because Interscope demanded something more "upbeat" – so it CAN work out.

No, some magazines mentioned that date but afaik it was never confirmed by her or her management. So probably no new Lana album in march.
