Finally, she said the Dark Paradise video would be released ages ago. I was waiting for it to leak or something.
Now I have something to look forward to, yay!

^ Most of the ones in the first link aren't even that bad. Ridiculous though? Yes. Their agenda is palpable. It's sensationalist writing with the aim of tearing someone apart because someone as singular and paradoxical as Lana Del Rey is confusing and threatening to people, and that always attracts these sort of reactions. These publications need to get readers, so they find their angle, fixate on it and overemphasize it, and they create sensation. The empty rhetoric in those blurbs is nauseating. That's all that shit is with online "music" journalism, it's just inflated, flowery bullshit used to gain readership, sway opinion, and seem "relevant." None of those reviews ever talk about music. Because those writers know very little to nothing about music. They're just writers and fans of popular culture, products of the Rolling Stone History of Rock propaganda machine. They write cute and highly stylized, and they're fixated on stupid metaphors, and their shit amounts to nothing. If i had the ability, Pitchfork is the first one i'd bankrupt and put out of business. Yeah, talk to me about human emotion, Pitchfork.

Also, if i read that a record was recorded in a massive underwater cathedral, i would run to the store to buy that

I'm not really sure why people are so outraged or even surprised by her reaction tbh. She strikes me as a deeply sensitive person, which of course has its advantages as shown through her thoughtful lyrics and just the way she approaches some questions in interviews. I think she's a strong person in many ways but I also think a real weakness of hers is accepting criticism. I know it seems like a really petty flaw, but I'm sure there's been a time for many of us where we've received criticism and inexplicably felt a deep, unjustified resentment towards the person who gave it to us. I feel like her problem might be like that but on a much wider scale. I'd react like such a little bitch if I was her tbh. Anyway, I sympathise with U.S fans but at the same time I feel exactly where Lana is coming from because, well, I'm human too.

I'm not privy to all the facts, of course (and I don't necessarily remember all the facts that have been made public), and so most of what I could say is speculation on my part. I do think the media's initial response to Lana in the U.S. was uncalled for. But I don't think it's what inspired her to break identification with America -- more of a straw that broke the camel's back, I suspect.

The world can be a tough place for those who are sensitive and/or creative and/or intellectual, and Lana apparently is all three. Add to that an increasingly anti-intellectual bias in American society, and rumors that it is not as bad in Europe and elsewhere... it becomes tempting to some to explore other options. (I have felt that temptation myself.) Particularly if she has spent any time in the southern states... let's just say that females who don't take steps to hide their intelligence can feel like outcasts way before it occurs to them to journey elsewhere.

So who is doing the rejecting? Some would say Lana, for criticizing aspects of America. But does criticism equal rejection? (I know many people who would say yes. Actually, I know several people who would say that "critical thinking" is overly negative, that "making an argument" is divisive, and that "problem-naming" as a first step to problem-solving is being a troublemaker. But I digress. Or do I...?) Perhaps Lana sees the situation as HER being the one who has been rejected.

But last time I checked, she did have a few dates planned in New York and California, at least. So it's not like she's writing off the U.S. completely. I'm sure she knows she has fans here who love her. But if she's already nervous about performing live, and already feeling misunderstood/slandered/rejected in America, should she necessarily take the step of willingly combining them? Maybe she feels like she's already putting herself through what she's prepared to take on.

None of this necessarily adds up to a grudge against the U.S. as a whole, imo. I see her criticisms as valid points, from which Americans could learn something... or not.

tbh, I do meth.. and i look fine, It can vary, I have met people who look absolutely fucked, after over 2 years of use you can't really tell with me at all, completely depends on the person.
She could of had a nose job for many different reasons, but it is true that almost every coke user ive met that snorts has a fucked up nose, iv'e even met a few that don't even have a septum at all,
I dont think the damage done by drugs could have been that extensive or we would have noticed in photos. But then again her timeline confuses me, and there's alot of gray areas, and it's easy enough to not get your picture taken, so it's possible we wouldn't have noticed at all,
Just the way she sings and talks about the drug culture in her songs leads me to believe it wasn't some occasional thing, if she was an occasional user you would think about 70% of the drug references in her songs wouldnt be there, why would she sing about them asif it was an important aspect in her life, if she did it once or twice

I think when you are really drunk or high to the point your soul leaves your body and you are there but not there you try whatever. Maybe she tried and did for a couple times meth, heroin or/and crack. But not really an addict. Like some already mentioned those drugs make you look like you were hit by a truck after a while. Lana is far away from a truck accident. Well maybe she has very strong constituitions and good genes but the rule is doing such drugs really fucks you up inside and outside. Coke I don't know. A few people do coke for years and are able to control it somehow while most people get addicted and fucked up faster. I guess genetics play a big part when the subject is addiction. Like the difference from being a user and becoming an addict. What I find more intriguing as some also already mentioned is the timeline. If she was making a meth party in her tralier in 2007 and was living in the trailer park from 07 to 09 how was she able to be in London in 08?? Lana's timeline is a grey zone to me. Well maybe she can teleport herself around the globe. Maybe she is the evolution we all are waiting for. Clean and drugged at the same time. She says she is clean over 7 years which makes the timeline even more sketchy. Maybe Lizzy is her twin and she is hidden in a basement at papa's Grant house singing Yayo to herself.

From my own personal drug battles, I can tell you that just because she did a drug doesn't mean she was addicted to it. I've done every drug out there, I did several of them on a weekly basis, but I was only really addicted to one. People are addicted to the high more than the actual drugs themselves, well in less extreme cases anyway. She may have been addicted to 'yayo', but did meth as a cheaper high, since around the years provided, you could buy a bottle of cough syrup & make meth. That's what, $5 or so bottle vs $20 or so for an ounce of yayo. A bottle could last you a day or two, an ounce could last a few hours, if that. No question about her doing drugs, just the extent of her use. I just think if she was really addicted to meth you'd be able to tell now. I did it for about 4 months recreationally and you can still tell with me... and that was about 3 years ago. I'm just glad that she's clean now. Drugs are a rough road to go down, it breaks my heart hearing of anyone struggling with it.

I think is funny and ironic and very Lana like the fact that she retired from the internet since was the internet that gave her a career. Hello youtube! i would like to see Lana tweet more because I like her nonsense with sense tweets. But it's up to her and doesn't bother me the fact that she doesn't interact on FB or twitter

She said she wanted to redo songs like Mermaid Hotel and Kill Kill like she did Yayo, so we could be seeing some old songs comping back up!

I listen to Bel Air at least 3 times a day and for some reason I link it to Born to Die and Summertime Sadness. I remember back at LDR.fm, it was said that Summertime Sadness was about a time when someone had died in the summertime, and usually you were supposed to be happy and free in the summer, but she just felt sad. I don't think we ever found receipts for that, it was just on some random site, but it has stuck with me.

Anyway, when I hear Bel Air, I think of this scene.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4UiYU3NJkA

She wants to go back to the times she had with him, and he's waiting to see her in heaven. The gargoyles possibly being people in her life preventing her from hurting herself, or joining him in heaven, she sees them as the enemy because they are keeping her away from her love. Darling, I'm waiting to greet you, come to me baby. I don't want to say Lana attempted suicide, but the idea sort of fits with her lyrics in Heavy Hitter, Jump, etc. You'll remember in the Blue Jeans video as she is going under, she sees black palm trees. Palm trees in black and white, last thing I saw before I died. I was lounging at the Chateau Marmont, glimmering by the swimming pool. ..I overdose, you throw me over your shoulder. And of course, the Summertime Sadness video, with Lana being an angel. Although, who would Jaime King be? Maybe Chuck or Wendy? Where is Wendy? lol That whole video is pretty ambiguous as is, so I guess not a whole lot of meaning can be taken from it.

I think that with the person she was with before Jimmy, she had found someone who she could be sober with, and with Jimmy it just wasn't the same and maybe she got back into her addiction with him. I think it was a toxic relationship for the both of them and he was pulling her down with him. She always talks about that one person who she is going to love forever, honoring love even when it is lost, and who she couldn't be with because he "had to leave" and I think the fact that she still mentions him and talks to his mother makes it more likely that he is no longer living. (You wouldn't usually talk about an ex-love like that, out of respect to your current significant other, at least imo) Whether this person was K, or whoever else. I also think the story behind BTD is complete bullshit. If her boyfriend did die, then that was someone really important in her life, and iirc one of her grandmothers passed away, too.. that kind of stuff has to make you wonder about the purpose of living.

This is probably all just my own little fiction I've created in my head.. I know a lot of people say when they listen to Bel Air, they instantly get really emotional and I guess I just feel the same. It really is my favorite Lana song, possibly ever.

Also, I think Trash is about the record exec. Maybe he had a wife so he had to get her hotel rooms. Used to go to the Comfort Inn.. Remember in Ride, the guy she's with at the hotel room? He's also at the show, standing up and giving her a standing ovation. I was born to be the other woman.

I could also see Gods + Monsters being about Jimmy. (However, I could also see this being about her current fame/Bradley Soileau's little twitter rant, etc.) Perhaps she was trying to be sober, but was with him and the "monsters" and relapsed. She was with him while he was in Velvet Revolver, if I have the timeline right. Like a groupie incognito posing as a real singer. At the time, Velvet Revolver was touring with the likes of Marilyn Manson (Marilyn Manson was supposed to become the front man for Velvet Revolver at one point, apparently) + Guns 'N Roses, making it possible that Lana actually knew them before these infamous photos.
