    CHVRCHES

I was so surprised to see that he sang on the BBC Live version of 'We Sink'! It reminds me of how Blake and Jenny rarely used to switch lead vocals on the same songs, in Rilo Kiley history. o.o I wouldn't mind a double album, one with him singing & then her the same songs, but I think I'm happy with the ones they each sing respectively. Maybe another bonus track or two could've better satisfied my craving. I am sadly rather indifferent about 'Broken Bones', though I haven't given up on it yet, but 'Strong Hand' is probably my favourite song from the whole thing! It's everything I had hoped the album would have, and the title phrase is even in it...how absurd for it not to make the standard edition. (Thanks, @@Rafael, for linking me to them ~ you be the bestest. ) Talk about an unpopular set of opinions. Filler? I think 'Lies' alone could fit in that category...even the other songs I don't especially love I can still tell are ~something else~ .

Guys, have the two bonus tracks been posted anywhere online yet, so I can download them?

    Lorde

You know you're a Lorde fan when you haven't downloaded any new song since 'Tennis Court', and you ran to your local CD store to reserve a copy so you can bike there as fast as possible next Monday to pick up your copy of 'Pure Heroine', and when you already have your friends on a waiting list to borrow it once it's finally in your hands.

Talk about κλέος and the Hellenic conception of immortality, as evidenced throughout Greco-Roman epics.
  5. TPD tells it like it is. I mean, I am ecstatic to have the song, finally, and still plan on buying the album, but I wish that it was mixed with more emphasis on her voice, a la Fiona Apple. Oh wait, did she just stab him with a screw driver and suck up the blood!?

    Charli XCX

Maybe she worked with The Shoes, they were commenting to one another one Instagram.

Great, add this to the list of infinite-songs-recorded-with-the-same-producer-but-never-registered.

That's what I'm (trying desparately) gonna do! Let us fast in one another's support.

    Angel Haze

Finally, confirmed album tracks! She's having a Twitter ask-party or something...so far she's confirmed: Black Synagogue (longest track on the album) Black Dahlia (hardest song for her to record) April Fool's (first recorded song) Vinyl (last recorded song) Planes Fly (with Natalia Kills) In addition to 'Echelon' and 'Battle Cry' (I think that's the title - it's on BMI with Sia and Greg Kurstin), and possibly 'No Bueno', this gives us about half a tracklist! Approx. four features on it, too.
  11. How adorable! I hope the audio becomes available in HQ separately, and soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=lUtnas5ScSE

Artists who start off releasing actual b-sides but fall into the habit of just recycling remixes (Florence, Rilo, Lykke Li, etc.) are the worst.

    Charli XCX

Easily 'Gravity', hands down. I'm putting my money that 'Mess' will surface on its own any way, and I doubt the studio recording of 'Atomic' could be anymore awesome.... Also, I don't believe a real studio version of the latter is circulating, though of course people are trying to pass a recording off as one...file next to 'Super Ultra' demos.

    Charli XCX

Yup! For sure "Chas's Song" and "!Francheskaar!", and I'm sure most if not all of the others too, at most likely her very first shows.

    Charli XCX

A Charli Tumblr posted a song they apparently found from 2011, and it's INCREDIBLE. With the fact this song wasn't even credited, the possibilities for what could be out there seem even more endless. It's apparently called "Atomic", and they talk all about it here!
  16. Omigosh, you guys, I'm gonna be desparately caught in yet another wave of Sleigh Bells stanning. It's so good! Even better than I had expected...the urban-y bits are just>>>> EDIT: OH GOSH THEY RE-RECORDED '2 HELL W U'!!!!!!!!!! That means they will have finally recorded every song from the demo, yay! From Pitchfork:

Random question; does she have any friends?

  19. I adore Fiona as much for her eccentricities as for her music, though I have only thoroughly adored 'The Idler Wheel'. It's one of the few albums that I care enough about to have spent money on a deluxe edition. Her voice is so unique, so spindly, often sounding like it's barely teetering on the edge of sanity as she ploughs her way through song after song. I wish she was a little less reclusive, a little more prolific, but in changing either aspect of her artistry, I feel like there would be something lost in the actual intricacies of what makes her Fiona. I was laughing out loud when I first read about her bell-ringing antics from a couple nights ago, and really hope some footage surfaces...that woman doing a backbend on a piano bench is at once both utterly unconceivable and thoroughly to be expected. Her 'Hot Knife' and Beatles cover of 'Across the Universe' both have extraordinary videos, and both are directed by her now ex-boyfriend, Paul Thomas Anderson. I earnestly entreat everyone, even if you don't consider yourself a fan, to watch them...they both are perfectly executed, and I can honestly say that they number in a handful of videos I've actually had the patience to watch a full time through. TPD, of course, already posted the latter, but here's the former: In closing, I leave my readers' with two thoughts. From Pitchfork, in their recent article concerning her Louis Vuitton performance: Finally, Oh, and I just wanted to ask if anyone else is incredibly reminded of Sky by her actions and mannerisms...of course, Sky is influenced by Fiona and not the other way around, but it's still surprising to me sometimes after watching Fiona speak, as per the infamous 1997 VMAs speech.

    Natalia Kills

I wish I could like her music, but it just doesn't appeal to me. I've been keeping an eye on her forever, since CalendarGirl posted the two 'Perfectionist' outtakes, but though I've enjoyed a couple singles, I just don't find her creations engaging enough to really capture my imagination. I'm not denying that she's talented, or that her project(s) aren't ambitious, but I don't think I'll be able to ~enjoy~ 'Trouble' like everyone else seems to be destined to. 'Rabbit Hole' does sound really cool, though.
