Honeymoon - Pre-Release and Discussion Thread

I can't wait to receive that one track, that special track which is on the level of Old Money, I know it will be in there in fact maybe Lana is working on it right now I'm so hopeful for this record -
That surprised me, at first they said it's just a "taste of the album, a buzz single" Also, it will be both on Rihanna's and Kanye's album I hope it will do well, top 5 maybe?

The song is definitely a grower At first I was like WTF this isn't so good But by the 4th time I was really into it

And then we would get a song called "For L" and we could start adding Dr. Luke to the possible list of lovers I can already see it Did he hit on her? Was Lana into it? And did Lana make him eat spaghetti all the time? It would be so beautiful -
Lana Featured on New Emile Haynie Song "Wait For Life" - Out January 20th

That's interesting, it's the opposite for me. In the first few days I only listened to it 3-4 times a day because I wanted to avoid overplaying it early on. But now I don't want to listen to anything but this. On a loop. Over and over -

If by "Isn't as dark" you mean songs like American I could be down for it But I really want songs with dark undertones, she does that better than anyone, it's cold yet elegant and calm. So amazing -
Dayglo Reflection [Bobby Womack feat. Lana Del Rey]
Creyk replied to Sitar's topic in Non-Album Content
I know what I like and it's all good for me -
I thought about this song today and came up with my interpretation. I think this song describes Lana's relationship with things outside of herself which cause distress in her life (mainly the media/her record label) and lets us know how her experiences make her feel. Why you make me work so hard To put on that evening show Here Lana talks about the problems she faces in her career as a musician. She loves to make music and she does tours, but promoting the songs is a drag for her, she is shy and a private person, doesn't really like to be the center of cynical, hurtful attention. She perceives many people to be this way. She does not enjoy some aspects of her career, yet she still has to do it. When you know that all I want Is to make your money grow? She is addressing her "money hungry" label who always want to change her and push her to be more commercial, they are dissatisfied with her product. The label benefits from having her and she would be willing to work with them if only she was supported in what she wants to do. You're like a baby who don't got nowhere to go I feel you eyeing me, you keep it on the low (on the low, on the low) They act childish towards her - she has a contract, they don't let her go, but they don't want her in the way that she is available to them. They want to change her constantly. But I can't let you in And I can't keep you out I wait for life to mend But it never comes around And I can't hear you call And I can't hear me [shout?] I wait for it to break But it never comes around The chorus addresses the media scrutinizing her and exposing too much about her life, her past, her family. She doesn't want people to dig around in her past yet she is helpless against them, she can't stop people from doing it. She waits for life to mend, to get better, for better things to come but they never seem to arrive. She wants to have a break where she can be more at peace but she only yearns for peace, it is not her actual experience. And I'm lonely I'm lonely I'm lonely These events make her feel lonely, being watched by the eye of so many people who misunderstand or judge her. Sometimes you feel the most alone in a crowd. That is how she is. She doesn't find someone who she can trust or someone who relates to her, even though it is imporant her to have a person who she can hold on to. Why you make me take that shit To put on that evening show When you know I don't need it Better than your booze and blow? Again she laments that with her profession as a musician she has to do many things that she doesn't enjoy. Making music is her favorite part but there is a lot more to it than that. In the two final lines, she says she doesn't need all the mainstream success that some would like her to have, it is not a priority for her. She likens those achievements to booze and blow, they put you high but they are also hurtful, they bring even more attention to you and she already had enough of that. She is worried that more attention would cause more problems. - - (Scatting) Feel like I'm falling apart (Scatting) Feel like I'm falling apart (Scatting) Feel like I'm falling apart Because of the bad experiences, her stability is broken, she is falling apart, she doesn't know how to react what to say, and often gets into uncomfortable situations which give her even more bad reputation. (like the I want to die story) She feels destroyed but she is helpless and can't do much against it. Would you tell me? Would you tell me? Would you tell me? But I can't let you in And I can't keep you out I wait for life to [win/mend/end?] But it never comes around And I can't hear you call And I can't hear me [shout?] I wait for it to break But it never comes around And I'm lonely I'm lonely I'm lonely She is alone - misunderstood, and helpless. Truly a sad song describing the abandonmnet she feels in her position from which she can't really escape.

I LOVE Ultraviolence a lot, but this is the Lana I fell in love with tbh This is so her I want Honeymoon to have at least 3 tracks in this vein, that way she can go and improve in whatever new direction she wants to have, but also give us gold like this -

Damn, my heart started beating super HARD for a moment when I saw the jan 20 date, but then longtimeman put it right back into it's place (lol that rhymes ) -
That's not necessarily a bad thing, maybe she will spend her time promoting her singles and performing them on Tv, going to interviews and all that. She didn't do that in while and I would LOVE to watch her properly slay the charts again
-
I love Talking Body (the song) but I don't really care for the video, it was kind of boring tbh
-
ITH should follow Old Money in the UV tracklist Listening to it like that healed my soul I changed it on my album
-
She looks like an ugly manish granny from the nineties
-
So I guess the hipsters really do love her Queen of Tumblr realness
-
But she is sensitive! I already had nightmares that Honeymoon will be too similar to BTD and the critics will drag her even more again and Lana will throw a hissy fit and then jumps off a cliff or something I worry too much
-
I hope. She didn't go on TV at all in the UV era so this would not raise her spirits for sure
-
Oh god...I hope Lana will never ever see this thread Or look up the comments on her appearance at all

This feels just, so fitting right now No but really even if Me I'm Mariah is a bit excessive, at least he is enthusiastic, which is not a bad thing Most of you just tend to get a bit too defensive Anyway, we all agree that there will be a Title track, right? A song called Honeymoon. She reworked Melancholia just for the sake of having a Title track for UV, Paradise didn't need one since it was an extension of the Born To Die era. I expect a track with that name to exist and it better slay us! (Nah, I know it will ) Oh and there better be an album sampler like The Paradise Edition had. I still watch that video sometimes. It's amazing
