See my theory is she's a big second guesser. She'll make something, it'll sound or look beautiful, but then she thinks about it. Long and hard, everyday, and starts picking at it slowly. As the days go on her anxiety gets worse and worse until she starts to believe that it needs to be completely revamped: and thats when everything starts to sound bad. She'll get her producers to start switching the chorus with the verse, adding new lyrics, completely dropping some things, over and over until the song isn't even similar to what it first was. When it finally gets to that state, she feels comfortable, because she feels like she worked out all the kinks of something she was insecure about, but the thing is: completely renovating and revamping a song doesn't mean you made it better, and I don't think she understands that. She loses alot of the fire when she rethinks things, because they're no longer natural. I think it stems from her anxiety, which really fucking sucks. Ever since she stopped doing what she wanted and started reading comments and taking in what other people say, her work hasn't been at that same level. I'll always love her, but she needs to trust her first instincts on certain things.

I think the problem is: she started internalizing people's voices/opinions, and stopped working with only her inspiration in mind.

I don't know what to expect. The fact that she said it's supposedly her saddest song ever and because we heard the snippets which had pretty much only piano, I'm inclined to believe it's just a piano ballad.
However, Change is Lana's only piano ballad of her discography. Old money still has strings, Bel air still has tons of beautiful strings. Is this happiness has those beautiful violins or whatever. Change has just piano because, as somebody else already mentioned, it was too rushed. So, it's hard for me to believe Sylvia will be just a piano song, like Change. There are definetly  other instruments and sounds involved, aka strings, synths, maybe even guitar or subtle drums, bigger drums, Idk. But it just can't be a plain piano ballad.

Just remember we thought Cinnamon was a boring piano ballad till Lana released the second snippet and our wigs were snatched.

The beginning instrumental to In Your Car is actually one of the loveliest pieces of music i've ever heard, i've got a feeling it'll be my favourite song off the record. It envokes such a hopeful but melancholy feeling. It reminds me of a certain time in my life and im actually in tears as im writing this

it's just a huge line of filler back to back and its disgusting

I actually quite like the title, it suits the poetry side of this era. And refects her current mindset of being able to finally do everything she used to want to become; (a poet, a pilot etc) i would like for her to have a song about aviation again on the album too, maybe something similar to I Can Fly production wise, being free like a bird, spreading your wings etc- it would make a lot of sense

Literally all her long titles turn out to be her shittest songs, sylvia sounds really boring to be fair - im not a fan of piano ballads either; they're usually kind of dull and uninspiring. However i wasn't sure about change either but then it turned out to be my favourite track on lust for life so there certainly is hope

can't wait for happiness is a butterfly to be renamed "happiness is a butterfly, try to catch it like every night, it escapes from my hands into (mooooooooooooonlight)

i just wanna know HOW she comes up with such beautiful melodies literally all the time... i mean most of her music is incredible and more importantly hasn't copied other melodies from other songs - its just so brand new and authentic... i actually believe she was blessed by an angel or a garden of fairies to come into this world and make a difference - and to bring some beauty and richness to it... can u imagine a world withoyt her music? it sounds dull and lifeless. her mind is incredible. And how she does it i'll never know.

Wow this snippet is absaloutely stunning! I'm glad she's bringing the strings back This and cinnamon are definitely her best snippets, and personally i think i'll probably enjoy them even more than MAC and VB; thats if she doesn't pull a white mustang and make it 2 mins long with cheap beat and ugly boring vocals.
 
Also cinnamon should definitely NOT be the lead single, it's too much of a bop and way too different from the rest of the record

edit: also ive only listened to the snippet twice and ya'll should do the same, dont go ruining its novelty before the album even drops and then complain about it
