Songs I want Lana to cover:
California Dreamin' by The Mamas and Papas
Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley (originally by Leonard Cohen but Jeff's version is *chef's kiss*)
Crazy by Patsy Cline
You're So Vain by Carly Simon
The River in the Pines by Joan Baez
Stand by Me by Ben E. King
Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel (studio version, we all know she sung it beautifully live)
Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana (again, a studio version would be orgasmic)
Every You Every Me by Placebo
Gloomy Sunday by Billie Holliday
Nights in White Satin by The Moody Blues
April Come She Will by Simon & Garfunkel
Apocalypse by Cigarettes After Sex
(Ghost) Riders in the Sky by Johnny Cash
Hurt by Johnny Cash (his version, I know it's not his song lol)
Queen of You by Monster Magnet
Lonesome Town by Ricky Nelson
Call Me by Blondie
The Killing Moon by Echo & The Bunnymen
Alison by Slowdive
Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac
Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by Marilyn Manson (his version)
Burn by The Cure
Winter's Going by Bonnie Dobson
Dumb by Nirvana
Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground
Somethin' Stupid by Frank and Nancy Sinatra (a duet with Father John Misty!)
Under the Milky Way by The Church
House of the Rising Sun by The Animals
Mother by Danzig
Wicked Game by Chris Isaak
I chose songs that Lana could easily sing based on her range

I think the the 2013-2014 leaks were still really good lyrically, and the Honeymoon/Lust for Life eras were pretty good too, but NFR just had such lackluster lyrics. Idk if she actually lost inspiration or if she was just trying to fit into the mainstream and appeal to critics or if her new lyrical direction is just what happens to inspire her now. Her voice is gorgeous, which helps, but I really do hope NFR isn't indicative of her new musical direction. I do love a few of the songs on the songs on the album, but I'm hoping the next album has more cinematic production and more dramatic lyricism (but either way I'll buy and listen lol).

I'm pretty sure it's just an edit bc the only places I've ever seen it are those uncredited tumblr/pinterest type posts

My theory is that NFR is about Jack lol, she started working with him bc he's supposed to be this great musical genius or something, and when they met she realized he's a lil pretentious and thinks he's the shit and she was like "I'm gonna have this guy produce a record that he doesn't even know is about him." Her mind

Is there a thread or something with info on when lana met/started working with different writers/producers?

Thanks so much guys, that was really helpful! Sorry, I've got another question lol. So the only radio mixes we have are Dark Paradise, Summertime Sadness, and West Coast, right? West Coast radio mix is produced by Rick Nowels, but do DP & SS radio mixes have different producers than the album versions? And this isn't a radio mix, but is the West Coast Rob Orton Mix produced by Dan Auerbach like the radio edit?

I don't know the genre for Honeymoon but I remember her saying something about the album being in "the tone of blue"
