  1. if the demo had been kept TNC would have been the second best song on LFL but now there's only Heroin to be really saved out of it. But even without putting LFL aside I'm happy and proud of her evolution as an artist
  2. remember that honeymoon instagram post in like March 2018 where she was writing that she had just written the most beautiful songs and couldn’t wait to share them with us? well we’re getting them in two weeks
  3. Even though I really love the snippets and I think I’ll love every song on this record I’m a bit sad that the chords are the same in several songs. In the snippets, Love Song, California and HIAB have exactly the same chord progression which I like but which is pretty basic. I hope they explode into something else even though Love Song won’t have that much time to do so.
  4. I’m not sure it wasn’t mentioned already but based on the snippets it looks like the song Chuck was playing on her story early 2018 was scrapped. It doesn’t sound like any of the songs.
  5. the audacity to say, after watching this trailer, that it's worthless... aren't the producers and the length the same? but that would be cool even though i love the production we have
  6. oh my god sometimes you guys... when you think of all that we already have and the stuff we're going to get before the release (one or two or even three more singles + snippets) AND given all the complaining about the thing being aLrEaDy HeArD and your past experiences (since it was the same situation with lust for life) can't you just be happy with the trailer we've got? the discourse that is held here is so contradictory I swear. i know I'm not saying anything new but it's absolutely crazy to read "nO nEw sOnGs whAt a sHaMe" and "sHe hAs SpOiLeD tHe WhoLe tHing" 300 times one after the other. now i know people tend to be weak when it comes to new music, me included and i wouldn't blame anyone for listening to snippets if they were put out and u guys do whatever u want anyway but it's highkey annoying to see you complain about THIS when we've just been given so much and u would end up regretting listening to them before the album in the end. we're gonna get snippets anyway, probably within the next few days when some weird site has been found. you blame Lana for having no continuity or coherence in her choices and actions but you're doing the exact same. obviously she handles the thing this time and she hasn't shared anything new for a good reason the trailer is perfect the way it is has a Lynchian vibe which i love especially at the end of the surf scene
  7. Bartender is supposedly ‘weird’ which is the most appealing thing she ever could have said also when the snippets are out don’t get fooled! remember how everyone loved the LfL snippets and how the whole songs or rather the album as a whole turned out to be
  8. actually I think she is going to change her tracklist. for the LATTM tour she had included numerous LFL songs which was surprising at the time. if she's touring she'll have more songs to perform than in festivals so I would expect her to keep the classics and add like 3 or 4 new songs
  9. girl consider yourself happy she's been coming to Poland literally every year but she hasn't come to France since 2017 and she hasn't had a proper show there since 2014 (and I know it's far from being the worst situation but I mean France sort of invented her career)
  10. nothing was scrapped in the end and that's a good thing. there's still so much we haven't heard on this album. all this mess is going to end and given the snippets and songs we already had it couldn't really have ended in another way. i'd rather have this tracklist this and patiently wait for LDR7 than have some of the songs be scrapped and then linger for years in our minds. at least we'll have everything she half gave us over the past year. the BAR version that we have is a demo as far as I can remember, because the official version (at the time) was 4 minutes long. i think it was reworked again for nfr but Rick must have participated in composing the song back in 2016 (as he has with all the songs on lfl or honeymoon) so it is normal that he should be credited anyway, and it doesn't provide us new info concerning his involvement in other songs
  11. your arguments are really impressive, I bet a lot of people are changing their minds
  12. I literally can't believe this debate is still happening in here. People wouldn't mind if she hadn't launched the era one year ago. If she had not had us get our hypes up nor gone from giving a lot of information to simply disappearing for two months in November-December, then in February-March, then in April-May. Now it's a matter of decency. I'm not even saying that releasing the album within the past ten months would have been a matter of decency but that giving information about it would have been - and I'm not talking about daily updates, rather about just a couple of statements every two months to tell us that it was going to take so long - by the way, we still don't have any fucking idea as to why it took so long and still takes so long and the hypotheses we have all tend to HER being responsible. She chose to spam her Instagram feed posting a million pictures that had absolutely nothing to do with her music and that's her choice but stop overdoing the situation like you guys are doing. The arguments were shown and explained so much times that I can't believe you still are sticking to this sHe DoEsN't oWe YoU aNyThiNg thing. The amount of times when unprofessionalism and disrespect jumped out over the past year is so high I can't even understand how you support this.
  13. you guys were almost unanimous when she first uploaded the HTD snippet in early October that oH nO iT wAs GoNnA bE aNoThEr BoRiNg PiAnO bAlLaD and now that the production is actually different and innovative and GOOD you trash it even though we have a studio quality piano version of the exact same song? I really can't
  14. with every day passing by, the chances of not getting one-year-old songs on the album are shrinking (and I'm not talking about Yosemite)
  15. it's been two months and one week since the 'stronger than you really are' snippet I-
  16. has she ever acknowledged anything LGBTQI-related though? apart from that 2009 'gay pride parade' tweet. She really isn't even doing the bare minimum, notably when putting only couples in a music video that's filled with it and supposed to be about love, which is pretty crazy if you think about her fanbase THIS. At least NFR sounds good and she made it before she became a baddie. I have no idea what kind of music she's creating right now, if she even is
  17. it annoys me that people call this song Wild One or say "Wild One or whatever you wanna call it" like honeymouns. I mean there's an actual song called Wild One out there so it's not a good idea to misattribute that title, the real Wild One seems to have been recorded in 2015 which goes to show that it remains unleaked. I'm so grateful for Color Blue being leaked though it's one of her best unreleased and it was the perfect timing to drop it
  18. if we're being honest I would say the album has been feeling non-existent since January
  19. for some reason I can't picture myself discovering the tracklist
  20. what the hell does it have to do with male domination? oh so just because the Nazis suffered from extreme conditions in the Russian winter during WWII means they were guilty of no oppression? it's the same thing here. Overall male domination is not something to trust in or not to, it's a fact, just as scientific as global warming, except if you choose to dismiss social sciences, which would be a shame. Just because men have built things - and why have women not? do you really think that they could do what men did, while being dominated? and do you say all things that have been created are good? is humans putting themselves and LIFE in general in jeopardy good? the Western culture is not the ultimate stage of civilization as people in the 19th century used to think, others never were subordonate to it, and we don't even have the full consequences of it yet, though I don't doubt they are going to come within a century. sorry for going so off-topic though PS society is still dominated by men and some people are doing their best to fight that whether you want it or not
  21. don't pretend you don't know all-pervasive male domination characterizes our societies and can be found in the type of submissiveness she shows in her songs more than in others. Such submissiveness is not a human constant, it's part of the culture and more precisely part of that vintage subculture she used in 2010. And I'm not saying Live or Die isn't good but once again, it can't be used for debunking her submissiveness I'm not asking her to be a feminist militant in any way, I'm asking for her to be considered what she is, that is to say NOT an activist, nor somebody who's politically committed, and i'm not saying that not being such a person is wrong
  22. If the songs are submissive, they can't be 'interpreted' as submissive, they can only be viewed as such, ie there is no bias, and they were - and rightly About the empowerment thing, it's a matter of proportions. I could enumerate at least fifty songs in which she's acting submissive, to a certain degree of course, sometimes very much, sometimes less. But she never was so 'emancipated' in any song as she was submissive in others. And I don't think these songs really convey empowerment. When she played the femme fatale role she wasn't getting out of her submissive character, it's totally coherent with that wannabe fifties attitude. Come on, we know the femme fatale myth is a patriarchical construction made up so that men could fantasize over it. So if today women want to subvert it and turn it into a non-patriarchal attitude, I shouldn't have any problem with that, but Lana clearly wasn't doing that in her songs. plus "baby I can't do it alone, cause you're the one that I want", "would you kill for me? would you die for me?", "I know what you've done and I can be your alibi" yeah super empowered, much more than the man in the song. I don't see any equality in American either
  23. I think she totally is part of the tapid liberal consensus that most American celebrities of her range share. They are liberal enough to blame Trump voters for being the underprivileged people falling for populism, not Liberal enough to bring real depth into their perspectives, or look toward places outside America or the Western world, let alone doing it in a way that wouldn't be blatantly neocolonial, giving millions to make them akin to the West but making sure people forget their donations account for 1% of their wealth, and that they support the worst corporations on a daily basis, when they're not advertizing for them. Liberal enough to 'tolerate' or include, to a certain extent, minorities in their content, but not Liberal enough to understand that they won't bring peace in Palestine. Liberal enough to leave aside antifeminist rhetoric, not Liberal enough to stop fueling institutions that are harming minorities, for instance Hillsong but that's only the visible type of ones. To say that climate change is real like 95% of people know but not to take any further action or stop flying private jets two hundred times a year. She's not the only one to do that and I don't think it would be reasonable to ask her to do otherwise, because she's just part of it all, but the media or people acting as if she was taking a stand in ANY WAY by alluding to her disliking for Trump need to stop. Plus her submissive position in her 2010 songs was not an interpretation. It was clearly there, not only in the voice, in the videos, in the overall attitude, it was in the words. It's striking when you discover new songs from that time, like Bad Boy. I'm not saying it's wrong though, it's a fact
